Rackit began in 2006 and have since grown into a leading provider of pallet racking, shelving systems, mezzanine floors, lockers, partitioning and storage solutions. Jim outlines how far the firm has come since it’s outset and how it works to ensure its continued success by supporting its clients. “Here at Rackit, our company has grown since inception to serve businesses all across the UK, including BP, Tesco, Menzies and our national Police forces, as well as working with various clients internationally. The project work that we carry out is complemented by a comprehensive industrial products catalogue, which covers mobile steps, containers, pallet trucks, signs, benches, mats, trolleys and almost 10,000 other line items.” As is the case in many industries, staff are of vital importance here to ensure that clients receive the highest possible level of service, as Jim explains. “To ensure excellence for our clients, we believe in working with people who are passionate about delivering high levels of service and satisfaction and we train all our staff to be able to deliver at those high levels. With the increased growth of e-commerce and the constant need for faster more efficient delivery and picking times required by clients, our ability to install and improve Rackit’s customers’ warehouse efficiency has never been so important, as Jim concludes. “With the increasing importance of online sales, the warehouse has become less about cost reduction and more about the ability to get the products to the end user as quickly as possible. According to Alixpartners, 36% of customers who put an item into their online shopping cart didn’t make the purchase because either the cost of delivery was too high or the item would take too long to arrive; and these figures are expected to rise. We are no longer just helping businesses save money with an efficient warehouse, but also aiding them in generating revenue if they sell online. “Recently here at Rackit, we have seen many changes occurring in the UK economy in what looks to continue as a time of high economic uncertainty.
