UK Enterprise 2017
66 WORLDWIDE BUSINESS REVIEW / UK Enterprise Awards 2017 , Best Physiotherapy & Pilates Provider 2017 - Cheshire CoActive Physio is a highly rated Physiotherapy and Pilates clinic based in the historic City of Chester. We caught up with Sarah Stewart, Clinical Lead, to learnmore about this dynamic young firm. Established in January 2016, CoActive Physio has seen a rapid growth in client base in its short 19 months of opening. Sarah explains the secrets behind the firm’s success in such a short time. “At CoActive Physio, we provide physiotherapy, Pilates, acupuncture and biomechanical/ gait analysis plus orthotics services, combining experience with cutting edge technology. In the physiotherapy clinic, we see and treat a wide range of clients/presentations from a variety of referral origins – self referrals, health insurance providers, GP and Consultant recommendations. Pilates is also a big part of the business, both within the therapy treatment room and on a class basis. Therapists are trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute to teach a modified form of Pilates specific to physiotherapy needs. We find that running our classes on a PAYG basis is effective and again allows clients that flexibility and accessibility. We currently run 7 classes a week plus 1-2-1 sessions and incorporate the Pilates method into our everyday clinical skills. We have also this year joined forces with Algeos to open up our onsite gait lab, using advanced technology to provide computerised gait analysis which allows us to accurately assess WUK17049 client gait to pinpoint deficiencies leading to recurrent pain and injury. “Our main aim, as well as offering the highest quality services, is to make it easier for our clients to attend sessions and contact us. It’s all about improved accessibility and standards of care. In order to achieve this, we are open 7 days a week, including bank holidays. We have early morning and late evening sessions available. We have a 24/7 contact protocol, so clients do not need to wait for official “opening times” to make enquiries or bookings. They can telephone/text/email any day, any time and will receive a response as soon as is possible. We also offer an online booking system for those that prefer to book their appointments through their computers or phones, and have a text messaging/email appointment reminder system which cuts down on missed appointments. “To ensure excellence right from the start, our business plan has always been simple: client satisfaction through easy accessibility and high quality service. The rest then follows, and our success is based on high regard from our clients and top class reviews/recommendations. We genuinely love what we do and strive to give our clients the best quality of service we can offer, whilst keeping our prices affordable. The clients’ needs are always put first, and there is no business “competition” when it comes to healthcare – only the requirement to help the clients access the care and treatment they need. We work closely with other healthcare providers to achieve this. Forming professional relationships outside of the business is key to our success.” Ongoing development is a constant focus at CoActive Physio, because despite the firm’s phenomenal success, the team are keen not to rest on their laurels. The therapists at CoActive Physio are highly experienced in their field and continue to develop and build on those skills, keeping up with recent trends and developments in the field of Physiotherapy and Pilates, with ongoing continuing professional development. Sarah is currently undertaking a further Masters in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a strong interest in manual therapy. Abi Okell (Senior Physiotherapist) is working alongside top level athletes in the British Parasnowsport team and will also be providing support at the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships this summer, forming international relations with other therapists and bringing to the clinic a wealth of experience in sports rehabilitation. This focus on continued development will continue as the firm looks towards a bright and prosperous future, as Sarah is proud to conclude. “The future for CoActive Physio is exciting – we will be expanding the clinic, both in services provided and staff provision – meaning we can offer even more session availability to clients. We will be opening up specialities to bring a wider breadth of physiotherapy services to Chester, and continue to build relations with other local health providers and charities – we are currently affiliated with Arthritis Action UK with Associated Practitioner status, providing subsidised sessions through the charity for sufferers of arthritis, allowing them dedicated time with a health care professional to talk through their symptoms and management strategies. Ultimately it is the gratitude from our clients that makes the job worth doing – without our clients, the business would cease to be – and we never lose sight of that.” Contact: Sarah Stewart Contact Email: sarah@ coactivephysio.co.uk Address: 33 Filkins Lane, Boughton, Chester, CH3 5EJ, UK Phone: 07919 411845 Web Address: www. coactivephysio.co.uk
