In Edinburgh, we also organise the Street Barber (Edinburgh) where we give free haircuts and toiletries directly from the streets. This is funded through the sales of our tours and to date we have provided this service to over 50 people in the city.” Building upon its already incredible success, Invisible Cities has big plans for the future, which Zakia proudly explores in her concluding comments. “Overall, the future looks bright for Invisible Cities, as we are expanding our activities to Manchester and Glasgow by the end of 2018. In 2019, we will also reach another location in the UK. We would like to keep our teams small in each city but reach more locations so everyone can enjoy our tours, wherever they are going to. We also know that each city is different and has a very unique history and view to offer to visitors, and as such we are keen to ensure that we continue to offer them education tours that will broaden their horizons and benefit members of the local community.” Additionally, in the lead up to Christmas 2018 Invisible Cities are offering great corporate packages that would include one of their guides and/or Zakia coming to speak to your office and a group tour of your choice of Edinburgh and after November 20th, of Glasgow. Their aim is to get as many people as possible aware of the reasons people become homeless and they feel a direct, honest conversation about it is always better. This latest offering will help raise awareness and achieve the organisation’s aim.
