SME News Q3 2025 / 26 Snap Fitness Addlestone: Raising the Bar in 24/7 Fitness Snap Fitness is a worldwide gym chain offering 24/7 access, monthly contracts, personal training, and top-of-the-line fitness equipment. Whilst all of its locations in the UK, of which there are currently 100, offer a similar standard of excellence, we have chosen to focus particularly on its gym in Addlestone. Recognised in this programme as the Best 24/7 Gym 2025 – Surrey, we had the opportunity to catch up with the location’s owner, John Prior, for more on what sets it apart from other gyms in the region. The mission of Snap Fitness Addlestone is simple: to help its members lead happier, healthier lifestyles. Everything the gym does revolves around this, from the inclusive environment it creates which sees everyone feel welcome through to making every decision with the needs of its members in mind. The set of core values this location has, which includes community, accountability, and a member-first approach, guides its hand at every turn and also serves as the foundation of the experience it delivers to new and long-time members alike. The extent to which Snap Fitness Addlestone values its members can be seen through the shared ethos that this is not just a gym, but a community. Taking things that one step further, John told us: “There’s a real, authentic vibe here – one where we genuinely care about our members’ goals, wellbeing, and progress. We celebrate their wins, both big and small, through our Member Diaries video series and regular shoutouts on social media.” “We may be part of a global brand, but Snap Fitness Addlestone is very much a locally owned and operated business.” As touched on above, this is not a community that is exclusive to gym buffs. In fact, this could not be further from the truth. Recognising that joining a gym can be daunting – especially for someone going alone – Span Fitness Addlestone delivers what it calls Snap Starts, which is a unique take on the traditional gym induction. These help to break down any barriers new members may face by putting them in small groups to learn how to use the equipment and build their confidence, building friendships along the way. It is not just new members who benefit from Snap Fitness Addlestone’s encompassing approach, and one of its most recent projects saw the location launch its new S7 group exercise classes, which have been incredibly well received. Behind these classes is the concept of the seven primal movements, innate patterns our bodies are built to perform during exercise. What follows is a full-body workout that is fun and effective, demonstrated by classes being fuller than ever with increased participation from across the gym. Members have themselves commented on their positive experiences at this welcoming gym in Surrey, with one member saying: “Super lucky having Snap Fitness Addlestone on the doorstep. Every time I walk in I’m greeted by a big smile and a friendly face and always made to feel welcome by the team. Even the other members are friendly – it’s a great community. The equipment is top spec, and the gym has everything I need and more.” More recently, Snap Fitness Addlestone has been navigating the rise of Gen-Z members to its 24/7 gym, which has led to an increased demand in digital fitness. Having embraced these trends, the gym gives members access to the Snap App, which encompasses more than 1,000 workouts available at the click of a button. In-app heart-rate training is set to follow soon, again part of the commitment this location has to serving every member’s needs. All of this highlights how innovation is part of Snap Fitness’ DNA. Given the fitness industry is always changing, spurred on by new products and trends, Snap Fitness Addlestone is determined to remain as relevant as ever. John himself told us: “Being a 24/7 gym, it’s important our members can access what they need, when they need it.” He continued: “On a personal level, my goal is to continue developing as a business owner. This is the first business I’ve owned, and I’m committed to improving every step of the way.” Finally, John shared that he has recently taken additional Snap Fitness franchise licences on, with the intention of opening up more locations across England and even expanding into the Republic of Ireland over the next 18 months or so. This is a big step, but John remains driven to bringing the community-first ethos he has developed at this 24/7 gym in Addlestone to new areas, setting a new standard for gyms far and wide as he goes.
