Annalise Price-Thomas says, “working with Local Authorities and schools to provide tutoring is challenging, but so rewarding. We are Alternative Provision providers in this role. Often, we are working with some of the most vulnerable children in each county.” These are children who perhaps are too unwell to attend school (often this can be due to mental health issues, such as severe anxiety) as well as children who are waiting for a school place or children have been excluded. Annalise says it is a privilege to support children and young people in challenging circumstances. Home-School Tutoring work with the Local Authorities and schools to help the children and young people eventually move towards reintegration. They have many impressive success stories and know that they impact lives with what they do. “Thank you for changing my son’s life” wrote one parent whose child has recently reintegrated back to school, after tutoring support boosted confidence as well as academic progress, following a period of school refusal. Safeguarding expertise is something Home-School Tutoring stand out for. It is one of their passions and they know how vitally important it is in education.
