Following the firm’s well-deserved success in the UK Finance Awards 2020, we caught up with Phil Anderson to find out more. Established in 2011, Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd was set up with the vision to be the number one financial advisory firm in the North and North East of Scotland. Going into further detail, Phil begins by providing us with a brief overview of the firm and offers us more of an insight into some of its specialisms. “Since our inception, Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd has rapidly grown and is now looking to expand it’s offering in the north of Scotland. Richard Bain joined the firm in January 2012, and he has serviced the firm’s clients in Caithness over the last nine years. Richard has worked in financial services for many years and has gone above and beyond in his duties during his time with us. “The firm deals with all aspects of financial planning including mortgage advice, retirement planning, investment and pension advice, tax planning and protection advice. Richard has established himself as one of the best protection advisers in Scotland over the years helping many people with life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection.” As a great member of the team over the years, Richard Bain has been instrumental in ensuring Lifetime Achievement Award 2020: Richard Bain the firm remain true to its principles of teamwork, as Phil explains further. “Richard has been doing a lot of training with our new mortgage and protection adviser, Kayleigh Ross, to quickly get her up to speed. In addition, Richard’s industry experience has truly been invaluable to the business over the years.” Despite the outbreak of COVID-19 and the challenges the pandemic caused for countless businesses, 2020 was another very successful year for the business, which Phil is keen to highlight. “Business levels remained brisk in 2020 with the firm’s turnover exceeding £1m for the third year running. Moreover, Richard has played an important part in the success of the business during this time.” Looking ahead to what the future holds, Phil reveals some of the exciting plans which lie in the pipeline for Phil Anderson Financial Services Ltd in the years to come. “Going forward, in 2021 we plan to increase our presence in Caithness. There are also plans in place to open a new office in the centre of Wick, Caithness.
