The last of these duties has brought about some challenges as of late, as the government’s expansion of London’s ULEZ (ultra-low emissions zone) meant that the three existing vans the company had at its disposal were suddenly deemed noncompliant, despite them being perfectly good. Sarah and Pete were faced with the dilemma that they may have to pay £12.50 per day to use these vans when transporting the dogs for customers, so they instead made the decision to trade these existing diesel vans in and swap them for new electric ones. Not only are these vans bigger, meaning that fewer are needed for the business’ daily activities, but they also represent K9 Adventures doing its bit for the environment, contributing to a happy and healthy future for the next generation of furry, four-legged friends and their humans. When he is not managing the site itself or solving problems like the one mentioned above, Pete makes use of his impressive scentwork qualifications – UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze and Silver to be exact – to serve as K9 Adventures’ scentwork instructor.
