Whilst the company itself wasn’t formally established until April 2021, the dedicated team at Davis Wright Haulage have more than ten years’ worth of experience between them. Adam Davis-Wright, the firm’s Founder and Managing Director, elaborates further to tell us more about the company and its steadfast ethos. “Our mission is clear,” he begins. “To take an innovative and dynamic approach with a focus on customer service, safety and quality. Focusing on our customers, delivering outstanding customer service and building a strong brand is what drives our business forward.” Adam, who previously worked for another haulage firm, decided to bite the bullet and venture out on his own during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was right at the very start of the coronavirus crisis, in April 2020, that Davis-Wright Haulage was first formed. Today, Adam guides the company forward by actively sharing his business vision with the team, keeping open and honest communications with people, and understanding individuals’ strengths and playing to them. “My approach to being a Managing Director is to have very clear and specific objectives that I want the business to achieve,” he enthuses. “I always try to be approachable and communicate effectively. I also try to inspire others and create a positive culture that fosters both innovation and collaboration.” Operating an open-door policy is another way that Adam tries to connect with his team, as he believes it is important for them to know that he is approachable and that he is there to listen to them. It also helps to establish shared goals, maintains good communications and ensures all members of Davis-Wright Haulage are on the same path to success, operating with respect, integrity, teamwork, transparency and accountability. Recently, in recognition of the hard work of Adam and the team, plus the impressive growth that the firm has experience since its inception, Adam received the prestigious accolade of Construction Haulage MD of the Year 2024 (East of England) in the Managing Director of the Year Awards. The title is indicative of Adam’s commitment to the industry and to his dedicated employees. Regarding the future, Adam now hopes to further expand and grow his fleet of trucks and drivers out, as well as expensing further into the Rutland and Leicestershire area.
