The company offers technical and operational assistance to clients in the oil, gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, wasteto-energy, marine and manufacturing sectors. From design to scheduled and reactive maintenance, Humber EC&I's unique skillset provides a powerful and reliable service. Offerings such as root cause analysis and plant performance studies help Humber EC&I’s clients ensure optimal operations. Delivering quality, cost-efficient services and applying value engineering, Humber EC&I ensures its customers benefit from its extensive knowledge from the outset. The company collaborates with its clients to customise offerings to their individual needs. Whilst serving clients throughout the UK, many of Humber EC&I’s contracts are from local industrial areas around Yorkshire and Humberside. Robert Morgan began his career as a maintenance technician before moving into project execution and commissioning. Before founding Humber EC&I, Robert worked on worldwide multimillion-pound projects in locations such as the Netherlands, France and Singapore. He tells us, “I’m an engineer first and foremost. I love electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering and I enjoy building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients. That inspired me to build Humber EC&I into what it is today. We’re not finished yet, though.” Robert is a great believer in leading from the front and would never ask a member of his team to do something he wouldn’t do himself. On busy days, Robert can often be found in the workshop giving the team a helping hand to ensure urgent jobs are completed on time. He says, “When it comes to going the extra mile the team always responds much better when they see the leadership team putting in the same amount of time and effort. We differ from other companies in that we are willing to go above and beyond for our clients. We help our clients ensure the profitability of their plants. That means ensuring they are back up and running in good time following maintenance and also delivering projects on time.” To enable Humber EC&I to consistently live up to and exceed its clients’ expectations, the company prioritises planning and communication. Robert explains, “Each new week begins with a Monday morning briefing. This sets us up for the rest of the week. Each team member knows exactly where they should be and what needs to be done. Everyone is aware of what’s coming down the pipeline and what to expect. Openness and honesty are key.” Robert encourages all the tradespeople, engineering and management teams at Humber EC&I to share their knowledge and learn from each other. He says, “There’s no such thing as ‘knowledge is power’ here. The more we know, the better we are as a collective. New team members have to be technically competent to do the job. After that, it’s all about whether they are team players willing to go above and beyond. They need to have the right personal traits and complement the supportive culture we’ve created.” Looking to the future, Humber EC&I’s main objective is to continue to grow the business at a sustainable rate whilst maintaining strong relationships and levels of satisfaction with its existing clients.
