Recently, we caught up with founder of ARC Broker Services, Melanie Jackson to talk about how this young company came to accomplish such great things in such a short span of time. Melanie Jackson set up this business due to her realisation that the industry was being monopolised by large brokers who were buying out the smaller companies. The result of this has meant that personal service has become lost and that customers have simply become a number with each receiving a substandard service. With the introduction of Solvency II in 2016 requiring insurers to hold far more capital than previously, the storms at the start of 2020 costing the industry an estimated £425million and now COVID-19 which although full effects are yet to be realised it is likely to result in billions in business interruption insurance losses, these are just some of the challenges the industry have been and are continuing to face.
