SME News asked Managing Director Mick Ventola about their experience of COVID-19 and how this pool of clients have had differing needs. “We’ve been finding that the leisure and hospitality industry has been utilising the COVID-19 downtime efficiently. Over the past few months, we’ve worked on a number of installations at family entertainment centres to assist them in getting up and running again, with planned refurbishments adding exciting new elements and sense of buzz to reopening.” Whilst most industries have felt the impact of COVID-19 on their operations, for many it has resulted in an increase in demands and a change in customers’ requirements - which in turn has led to many businesses making some positive steps in changing their offering and their priorities. Ventola Projects is currently in the midst of a major research and development project as Mick was keen to share. “The aim of the project is to assess how we can upgrade the lighting products we’ll be releasing into the US and Middle East markets later in the year to make them as ‘green’ as possible. One avenue we’re investigating is the potential to source locally to help the community in our area and reduce the distances that components travel. We’re talking to our suppliers to explore ways they can increase the proportion of recyclable materials used in product manufacture. The response we’re getting is really encouraging, so definitely green energy and sustainability is high on the agenda.” The determination to become ‘greener’ is a major issue for many businesses operating in current times, and Ventola Projects demonstrates their understanding of their part to play within this movement.
