CEO and Founder Gemma Price talks to us about its services, success, culture, and future. HubGem is a digital marketing agency that helps the education sector, non-profit organisations and businesses expand by increasing their reach and improving their engagement. It is passionate about helping a variety of clients to become better at finding the correct audience and users. It helps with web design, copywriting, graphic design, automation building, training, and strategy and audit services. With clients all around the globe, HubGem specialises in implementing inbound marketing methods to recruit students and supporters. It attracts the correct people to its clients by giving them the tools to do so themselves. Gemma says, “We are passionate about helping people, we simplify the complex and give our clients the confidence and skills they need to succeed. We don’t just ‘do it for them’, we want to bring our clients on a journey with us and provide confidence and skills in digital processes”. By simplifying the complex sides to marketing, HubGem has a huge impact on a variety of businesses. Gemma says, “We pride ourselves on always providing a high-quality and efficient service. These ideas have made it into our business plans, and I have addressed each suggestion”. HubGem offers its staff generous holidays and lots of team-strategy building meetings that help each member of staff to touch base and develop their skills. Gemma tells us that this usually involves getting lunch together, which is an excellent way to get everyone socialising. It is important to stay in touch, especially due to the global pandemic where people have felt more isolated than ever. Meeting each day via Zoom to collaborate on everything creates a strong foundation for the business to adapt and flourish. HubSpot is a digital platform to help businesses grow bigger and better in a way that is efficient for all. HubGem Marketing is a Platinum HubSpot Solutions Partner for the EMEA Region, specialising in education and non-profit marketing. HubGem has had to take a unique approach to the market. Gemma says, “These sectors are unique and have their own very specific opportunities and challenges; it can be hard to find experts in these sectors and we are dedicated to focusing on these sectors as we grow. We primarily work with Independent Schools, Colleges and Universities as well as charities. The non-profit sector has of course been hit hard over the past 18 months. Education has been less affected but, globally, students have really missed out during the pandemic. So, parents are prioritising learning, and the sector seems to be doing well. The pandemic led to everyone moving online. Schools and colleges found that their marketing and admissions efforts were not compatible with home working; this led to a surge in interest in cloud solutions and Customer Relationship Management systems”. Gemma tells us, “Growing the business in a pandemic has of course been a challenge, there were some very stressful months. We stayed focused on our goal and trusted that we could provide real growth to our clients and now we are growing rapidly. We are on track to become Diamond HubSpot Solutions Partners within the next couple of months, which is very exciting - only 192 of HubSpot’s circa 6000 partners have ever made it to Diamond”. It is a very exciting time for HubGem, and its future is very promising. Gemma adds, “our main goal for this year is to scale the business to meet demand, and we will be recruiting a few more team members before the end of the year. We are launching a new ‘Learn with HubGem’ online training resource with on-demand specialist courses and resources soon, which is exciting. We have recently launched a partnership programme with like-minded organisations who serve the same sectors as us, so we will be continuing to grow this and team up with other businesses to provide the most possible value to the education and non-profit sectors”.
