Stuart Wright tells us more about the company and what makes it so successful. Wrights Estate Agents was established in 1972 by Bill Wright, who had moved to Church Stretton in 1966 with his wife and family. Having decided to stay in Church Stretton, he recognised the need for an additional insurance brokers and building society agency in the area. This progressed to establishing a combined insurance brokers with the Abbey National Building Society Agency and also, with assistance of friends, working in the estate agency business. Bill’s son Stuart, having left college, decided to also join the industry and trained at the office of Russell, Baldwin & Bright in Leominster. The Church Stretton business took off well and Stuart joined his father at the Church Stretton soon after and still continued links with Russell, Baldwin & Bright. Stuart has strong links with Church Stretton having attended the local senior school and playing cricket, basketball and tennis for the local teams. He is presently Chairman of the Club and also a member of Church Stretton & District Chamber of Trade. The company also established an agency in 2010 for the Yorkshire Building Society which has grown substantially and provides investment and mortgage needs. This year has been a testing time for businesses and families, as was last year, with many businesses having had to remain closed until recently. However, the housing market continued but under the strains of Government lockdowns, Best Residential Real Estate Agency – Shropshire and Wrights Estate Agents continued to support its staff and clients by putting all the necessary measures in place when viewing properties and escorting clients around. “Since lockdown in 2020, the property market has remained very busy in the Church Stretton locality and in much of the rural UK,” explains Stuart. “The increase in buyers moving from larger cities and towns in the East Midlands and South East has never decreased. The idea that people can work from home and perhaps just visit their offices in the larger cities and towns has brought younger buyers to the area, which in the long run will support schools and other businesses.” Wrights launched a new website recently to enable better visibility of their products and their services with easy access to the website property portals.
