Midlands Enterprise Awards 2023

Ever since she was young, Shamala Antonio has seen the connection between her physical health and her mental wellbeing. Founding Impact 4Life Wellbeing was her way of showing others this incredibly important connection, and allowing them to thrive as she had. With success behind her in the Midlands Enterprise Awards, we dug a little deeper to find out more. Community Health and Wellbeing Champion of the Year 2023 - West Midlands Physical health has always been a part of Shamala’s life, with her parents introducing her to the gym at an early age. What became clear to her as she grew older, however, was how rare it was for many to have this positive force on their lives present. Such strong habits, best created in those formative years, was absent. As such, it’s little wonder that Shamala spent her early years sharing a love of fitness with those around her. With a background of cycling days and healthy eating, she could see the value of a healthy lifestyle and quickly became a model to follow in her teenage years and into her adult life. Family and friends would ask her how to live in a more effective way, and she would engage them in activities such as swimming, walking, and jogging – as well as a bit of Zumba! Further development, however, was necessary, and before long, she had trained and qualified as a level 2 fitness instructor, a level 3 personal trainer, as well as qualified as a nutritionist. All of these skills would form the basis for Impact 4Life Wellbeing. This impressive organisation helps people to live their best lives as far as possible. Through Impact 4Life Wellbeing, Shamala has become a published author and a social entrepreneur, empowering people to feel healthier and more confident within themselves. The programmes run by the Impact 4Life team are designed to increase confidence, improve health outcomes, and increase self-esteem. In a world where it is easy to feel ignored, Impact 4Life makes people feel pride. The techniques are age-old, but carefully refined by Shamala to ensure maximum impact. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Shamala has been able to provide online services to many, which has increased her reach, and impact, considerably. Once limited to the local community, the importance of regular exercise, self-care, mentoring and coaching, as well as nutrition support can now be accessed by all. The services that Shamala provides are now not just limited to the needs of individuals. Through Impact 4Life Wellbeing, she has been able to offer tailored staff health and wellbeing services that have been proven to improve employee health and retention. Various options such as virtual stress management, virtual mindfulness and nutrition workshops, and healthy cooking demos have made a real difference to how many live their lives. These courses can be run before or after the working day, as well as during lunch times. There’s no limit to what Shamala can offer, and as no two businesses are the same, neither are her services! Getting the results you’ve always wanted can seem like an impossible dream, but Shamala Antonio considers her programmes a stepping stone to making that dream come true. Her vision is of a world where more people are healthy and confident, able to take what they want. Through her work, it’s a vision that is rapidly becoming reality. We can’t wait to see what she does next to bring that vision to life more fully. Contact Details Company: Impact 4Life Wellbeing Contact: Shamala Antonio
