We find out more from the firm’s founder, William Pritchard as it is crowned in the prestigious Midlands Enterprise Awards 2023. Best Carpentry & Kitchen Fitting Company 2023 - Herefordshire WT Pritchard Carpentry & Kitchens was established by William Pritchard in 2015 following the completion of his apprenticeship at a local well-known joinery shop. William subsequently went to work with his father, who is a builder by trade, and then moved on to work with another carpenter, whose knowledge he describes as “second to none in the trade” before finally branching out on his own. “Do the best you can, make everything as close to perfect as possible, and let the work do the talking,” William states, telling us of the mantras he runs his business by. “Things that steer me to success would be having knowledge of all different trades and taking on board what they have to say and what does and doesn’t work well. Just having a good name in the trade is the main thing.” And William has indeed built a great name for himself and his firm over the last eight years. As well as a stellar reputation, WT Pritchard is a name synonymous with trust, honesty, and transparency, and he prides himself on not signing off on a project until the client is completely happy with the end result. “Until the project is complete and the client is happy with everything, it is our worry,” he explains. “We try and cover all bases, ideas, and options when we first meet the customers, and quote upfront so customers know what exactly is being done and what the end goal is.” Another unique selling point for WT Pritchard is the fact that the firm can also provide a complete turnkey solution for clients, taking on any project from replacing a kitchen, bringing in plumbers and electricians, ripping up flooring, and taking down walls. “We’re essentially a one-stop shop for all projects,” elaborates William on bringing in subcontractors to assist. “I myself oversee all projects so everyone knows before they even turn up onsite what needs to be done so they can plan the timeframes and kit they may need for the job in hand.” Being based in the midlands certainly has its advantages for WT Pritchard, for example, William works closely with a company called Kitcheners of Hereford who he relies on to produce quality kitchen fittings. Not only do they supply good quality products at competitive prices, but they are also ‘local’ too, being just stone’s throw from the central region.
