Midlands Enterprise Awards in 2025

Founded in 2014, Kinver Business Solutions Ltd was born from a vision to create a consultancy that offered more than just solutions – it offered partnership. With a background in social housing and project management, Founder Darowen Jones saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the market by providing bespoke project and programme management services to clients who required guidance throughout the project lifecycle. We speak to Darowen as the firm gains notable recognition in the Midlands Enterprise Awards 2025. Best Business Management Consultancy 2025 - Black Country Since its humble beginnings just over a decade ago project management consultancy, Kinver Business Solutions Ltd (Kinver Business Solutions), has gone from strength-to-strength, thanks to the dedication and hard work of Manager Director and Founder, Darowen Jones, and the team who make up the business. The firm has expanded its service offerings and now operates across a number of public and private sectors including regeneration, heritage leisure, housing, and compliance, plus it has diversified its client base and built a stellar reputation for delivering results that exceed expectations. With services being delivered by a key team of specialists, Darowen is proud to be able to outperform competitors in both quality and cost whilst building sector presence. At the heart of everything the firm undertakes are the core values of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and client satisfaction, and Darowen tells us more about what differentiates Kinver Business Solutions within the industry. “An optimistic outlook sets us aside,” he begins. “By nature, property and regeneration projects often have issues and we pride ourselves on working seamlessly with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, understanding their challenges and issues, and providing tailored solutions based on their needs. We do not shy away from having difficult conversations and where we feel there are solutions clients have not considered we will raise these appropriately.” Darowen goes on to tell us that Kinver Business Solutions is more akin to a family in its internal culture, with the team being completely involved in mutual decision making on opportunities and challenges. Furthermore, collaboration with both team members and diverse project stakeholders ensures the best possible project outcomes. “Mentoring is embedded in our ethos,” continues Darowen. “With time regularly scheduled with the team to discuss problems and solutions, providing practical, pragmatic support that allows all in the business to develop.” When recruiting, the intention is to find likeminded people to share the company’s core values as well as to offer them long term career opportunities to join the firm, develop, grow and prosper as it moves through its current business growth strategy. Project management within the built environment continues to be riding the crest of a wave. Most recently the previous government’s focus on ‘place making’ including initiatives such as Towns Deal, Future High Streets and Levelling Up programmes, with significant levels of public sector investment, had unlocked countless further private sector funding. Now reinforced with the new government’s focus on housing, the need and demand for Project managers is ever increasing. “Once a role where many questioned the benefit and costs, project managers are now seen more and more as being the integral part of any professional or design team for a capital investment project,” states Darowen. “The West Midlands, however, is the ideal place to start and then continue a business. Not only does the area benefit from being in one of the first mayoral authorities, it also benefits from the best connectivity to all areas of the country.” Darowen predicts that cities across the region including Coventry, Birmingham and Wolverhampton will prosper as will others with local decisions by local people, and that Project Management companies of all sizes will benefit as the increased investment in the region is driving change and necessary improvements. “The West Midlands is still the beating heart of the country with manufacturing and car making industries being supplemented by aviation and others making the area full of opportunity, ongoing investment and employment.” Recently, Kinver Business Solutions received recognition in the Midlands Enterprise Awards 2025 for its ethos and commitment to the industry, being named Best Business Management Consultancy 2025 - Black Country. As Darowen looks to the future, he is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Kinver Business Solutions continues to push ahead with its growth ambitions within the local authority and housing sectors, whilst maintaining its core values, and the aim for the next twelve months is to grow the client list and showcase the services that we it can offer. “With an ambition of increasing turnover 25% year-on-year, and having achieved this for the last three years running, we are expectant that as we grow, we continue to disrupt the sector and prove that micro and SME organisations can outperform the larger Tier 1 consultants in both quality and cost of services,” enthuses Darowen. “ The current government’s commitment to 1.5 million homes will generate multiple opportunities within the social housing development sector and our expert knowledge and experience ensures that we are uniquely placed to increase our client list whilst delivering transformational projects.” Contact: Darowen Jones Company: Kinver Business Solutions Ltd Web Address: www.kinverbusiness.co.uk AIM-Jun25083
