We speak to Managing Director, Vijay Magon, who tells us more about the company and how things will work moving forwards. Designed and built with NHS practitioners using Microsoft’s latest technologies, CCube’s award-winning solutions deliver electronic health records to clinicians, secretaries and administrators in the format they require, when and where they are needed. With a proven track record of project success and expertise working with the NHS over 20 years, providing cost effective and scalable solutions, tailored to meet individual requirements, its software suite is used in over 30 NHS organisations around the UK including Aintree, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, North Bristol Trust, NHS Grampian, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, Papworth, St Helens & Knowsley, and NHS England & Improvement – delivering measurable benefits, helping to deliver paperless healthcare within 20 months. CCube’s suite of Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM) products include the following modules which can be tailored to suit clients’ needs and expanded from departmental to hospital and trust-wide solutions: • EDRM: scans, stores and views patient notes • Forms recognition and indexing automatically recognises, classifies, indexes, and presents the digital health record • Connect: pulls in patient data from third party systems as it is created • eForms: allows clinicians to enter structured data in real-time • Workflow: configured to support standard operational processes • Portal and Web API: allows CCube to be integrated with third party applications • Mobile: access to patient data and data entry using mobile tablet devices CCube Solutions help Trusts and Health Boards alike to digitise legacy patient medical records and make this information available to clinicians and other health professionals at the point of care. It supports the Government’s drive that the NHS should be using technology to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ultimately enhance patient care. With workflow and electronic forms, the solutions are designed to automate defined processes, including data entry, without any dependency on paper. The Microsoft technologies support the use of mobile tablet devices for access and for data entry. Managing Director of CCube Solutions, Vijay Magon, tells us more about the company’s unique selling point and how it aims to distinguish itself against competitors. “Developed with the NHS and utilising an open, client/server architecture, the CCube suite is customisable, fast to deploy, easy to integrate, scalable, standards-based, feature rich and compliant with current legislation and data protection rules,” he begins. “The system supports full security controls, document retention and disposal, and comprehensive auditing. “It is available as on-premises or on a fully managed hosted (SaaS) platform, minimising operational costs. The CCube software suite currently holds and manages some 450 million documents containing over 52 billion pages for 32 million patients across 30 NHS organisations around the UK. The solution is in widespread use in the NHS, and we have performance data over 15 years showing realisable benefits achieved by a number of Trusts. Data from just three Trusts shows a total saving of circa £35 million over a 10-year period,” Vijay adds. Roughly 84% of healthcare organisations believe that their hospital has been impacted by incorrect or missing data, due to paper processes, over the last 18 months. “Productivity, teamwork, and the patient experience are constantly at the top of every healthcare organisations priority list,” Vijay explains. “That’s why the future will include paper-lite initiatives that comply with regulations and help increase patient care quality.” Digital health records help to reduce face-to-face contact to protect patients and staff, minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection, and provide practitioners with the ability to access patient information from anywhere without compromising the integrity of care provided. “We can support the health sector and help to reduce face-to-face contact to protect patients and staff, minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection, for example with digital records which will provide practitioners the ability to access patient information anywhere and support virtual clinics,” Vijay tells us. “While the shift from paper to digital has been ongoing for years, many businesses and industries remain behind the curve. Embracing digital transformation is no longer an option – it has become an essential strategy. Yet many decision-makers remain apprehensive of the perceived scale that comes with such a transformation.” Like many employees, CCube’s staff transitioned from office-based work to remote working in March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK and, during this time, the firm continued providing uninterrupted services to its NHS clients, ensuring that NHS staff could have
