118 | Northern Enterprise Awards 2022 Based in Speke, Liverpool, Privilege HR provides bespoke HR documentation, employment and legal support, people solutions, and recruitment services. Founded five years ago, Peter Waller-Flynn and Mary Ball wanted to share their strategic and commercial expertise with SMEs. Having both worked as HR Directors in large scale global and international organisations, Peter and Mary saw the benefits for businesses to outsource its HR. Hence the idea to create Privilege HR was born. “We know time and money is precious for SMEs and the SME model does not necessarily have the cashflow to have a direct hire for specialist resources,” explains Peter. “We stand out because our consultancy retained service allows the knowledge and specialism to be present in the business but with a more value for money concept.” Peter and Mary’s experience means businesses not only get support on their HR but advice on how to build and grow through their people. Having grown itself from a local client base to national with more than 150 clients supported on a retained or consultancy basis, Privilege HR and its directors have seen how HR has gone from a key function for sustained growth to merely a task of compliance. Peter himself boasts an impressive 23 years in the HR industry and has made a name for himself within the sector having worked across the globe for a number of high-profile public, private, and third sector companies. He tells us that the industry experienced rapid change during the pandemic in 2020, with employment law and working practices changing weekly. Privilege HR supported its clients through this difficult time by being proactive to new changes and being a business that can be trusted through a time of uncertainty. “We are pleased to say we saw our clients’ businesses survive through the pandemic and within the last year survive,” Peter enthuses. “Our personal approach with our clients is what sets us apart from competitors, no client will ever speak to an advisor who has no knowledge, affiliation, or care for their business. No two people are the same so why should they managed the same? We are bespoke to the market we operate in, this is possible due to the expertise available at Privilege HR.” The firm’s latest venture certainly sets it apart from our competitors with its next and biggest project to date being delivering its fully functional omni-channel HR Service for SMEs on a national basis. This one-stop-shop of HR will include employment law, employee relations, recruitment, reward, online learning, psychometrics, occupational health, payroll, and apprenticeship providers etc. Peter tells us more, “We are going to deliver this via a cloud-based knowledge centre that will allow employers to access a range of templates for all employee related issues along with a suite of policies and procedures bespoke to their industry and organisation.” This omni-channel approach with quality, value and service at its core is exactly what business owners are looking for and will create a warm lead for partners to gain access to clients that they would not normally have access to, therefore also allowing other SMEs to grow. As a small, close-knit team, Privilege HR has created a culture of collaboration and support which means everyone works together in order to grow. “We see and advise our clients on the importance of having a positive work culture for the engagement and retention of your employees so would only be fair if we also reflect this!” states Peter. “We are putting the ‘human’ back in human resources because a business cannot continue without a successful workforce.” The company is also a big believer in putting back into its community and has forged a Oct22513 Best HR Services Provider - North West close relationship with several not-for-profit and charitable organisations like the Women Organisation, the ADHD Foundation, The Big Help Project, South Liverpool Foodbank, Liverpool Homeless Football Team, Power Up Mentoring, Give an Hour Mentoring, LCR Pride, and it is a patron of the Warrington Wolves Foundation, as well as supporting the John Haynes Foundation. Additionally, Privilege HR is partners with LJMU meaning it is able to provide opportunities for students to have experience in industry. “We have devoted a considerable amount of time building relationships with the local communities, many of whom we now work closely with. We are constantly looking for opportunities to give back to the community and we believe the service we provide for our clients aids them to thrive and grow within Liverpool.” Recently, the firm gained recognition in the Northern Enterprise Awards and received the title of Best HR Services Provider – North West for its dedication and hard work. Now, Peter and the team are looking forward to a bright future. “We are already so proud of where we are,” he says. “Our future includes our journey into creating a one-stop-shop for all workforce needs. We are also very excited about venturing into the recruitment market and this will dovetail very nicely into our current HR offering.” Contact: Peter Waller-Flynn Company: Privilege HR Web Address: https://privilegehr.co.uk/ Providing businesses with a range of HR, recruitment and training solutions, Privilege HR has expertise in a wide range of sectors and specialises in supporting small and medium-sized companies.
