Meetings have a relaxed structure, designed to help members and guests build strong business relationships. Its model welcomes all businesses and aims to deliver a matchless networking experience and excellent value for money. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, The Growth Community has become a successful organisation and nurtured the growth of numerous businesses. With years of networking experience, founder Nicky Thomas has shaped her business with the member and guest experience in mind. Nicky recognises that not everyone can commit to fortnightly meetings and invites guests to network with the community up to six times a year without committing to membership. This approach allows the meetings to be entirely focused on forming connections and building success. Those that do commit to membership enjoy the unique, 6 weekly ‘member only’ meetings where members discuss proactive actions and offer support to each other. The community provides essential support to professionals, encouraging members to share their knowledge and work together. The group becomes their own proactive ‘marketing team’ dedicated to achieving mutual growth. The Growth Community is committed to exploring new avenues to connect members and foster the development of productive relationships. The business is designed to create action, with its success based on the growth that members experience. In a recent survey, 75% of members reported growth and 20% said they were having their best business year to date. The Growth Community’s dedication to quality and being true to its value system consistently converts guests into members who stay with the community because of its friendly, productive environment. The Growth Community has spread across North Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and the Humber. Remaining within specific areas ensures that members can meet in person and attend more community events. The community has previously opened groups in the South of England but found that this diluted its efforts. The Growth Community now focuses its operations solely in the North which allows founder Nicky to be more available for meetings. Nicky’s personal values of collaboration, integrity, and support have built The Growth Community’s strong foundation. Nicky shares, “Our culture is very much about supporting each other but we also have a strong emphasis on saying thank you and celebrating the success that people help us to achieve. This includes our member of the month initiative and our annual member awards. Both are extremely popular with our community. We also have a culture of ‘giving back’. We work closely with The Children’s Air Ambulance, a national charity that provides a patient transport service for critically ill children and babies. To date, The Growth Community has raised in the region of £30k and we continue to work together on fundraising initiatives.” Over the past 18 months, the company has expanded exponentially but expects to see more consolidated growth in the coming year. There are plans for more groups but The Growth Community will mainly focus on supporting members to become more strategic and help them achieve better results from networking. Nicky has invested much time and energy into outsourcing parts of her operation in order to streamline processes. In 2024, she aims to identify more automation opportunities and bring on outsourcing partners to help the business become more efficient. The business will continue to foster the growth of its members and invest time and energy into its Group Leadership team to ensure that all meetings remain productive and welcoming.
