SME News Northern Enterprise Awards 2023 / 96 Best ID Card Printer Retail Company 2023 ID card printing solutions company, cards-x has more than quadrupled the size of its team in only two years. The company, founded in 2020, specialises in ID and event accreditation solutions. With clients including Microsoft, Wimbledon, Twickenham, and Royal Ascot on its roster, it’s easy to see why cards-x is making a name for itself in the event solutions industry. We chat with group chief operating officer, Andy Reeves to find out more. With security becoming ever more important in our everyday lives, access to offices, factories, educational establishments, gyms, and events all require strict controls. The rise in popularity of the ID card system is no surprise considering the advantages it presents, including ease of integration and cost-effective production. Technological advancements in printing and encoding technologies have also made it easier to incorporate security features such as holographic overlays, magnetic strips, and barcodes, adding protection against fraud. cards-x offers innovative digital access solutions, managed accreditation services, and guest management solutions for venues and events throughout the world. Passionate about providing first-class solutions, the company’s priority is the quality of the service it provides. Part of cards-x Group, the company is based in Malton, North Yorkshire. Supplying ID card printers, consumables, cardholders, and lanyards, the company also offers a range of access turnstiles. Andy says, “We manufacture our turnstiles in Germany, and our plastic ID card holders in Malton. We offer our own range of oversized ID card printers alongside leading industry brands such as Matica Technologies, Entrust Datacard, Evolis, Zebra Technologies, and Dascom. We also specialise in a unique method of printing plastic cards in ISO credit card format at our production plant in Germany.” In recent feedback, DPD praised cards-x for its honesty, integrity, knowledge, and ability to meet expectations. No mean feat when you consider that the most recent project involved enhancing driver and depot security across 84 sites, UK-wide. Andy tells us about current market trends: “The UK and Germany are two of the biggest markets for security and personalised identification products in the world. This is due to each country’s underlying commitment to safety, compliance, and security. As such, the market is competitive and driven by price, customer service, and trust. Since Brexit, we are seeing more customers than ever looking to buy British and closer to home.” Since the pandemic and following changes to the regulations for imports of microchips, the company has seen increased demand for both ID cards and card holders. Andy explains, “Customers are looking for quality service and reliability from their suppliers. Being based near York, we are fairly central for nationwide delivery. This allows us to offer our customers great service and a fast turnaround. We want to ensure our customers get the best service possible and our team is driven to deliver on that promise.” Just over a month ago, cards-x sent its first consignment of its Evohold official ID card holders to the USA. Now, the company is looking forward to growing its client base in Europe and around the world in 2024. Contact Details Contact: Andy Reeves Company: cards-x Web Address: www.cards-x.co.uk
