Following the firm’s well-deserved success in the Southern Enterprise Awards 2020, we caught up with Kerrie Smith to find out more about how the team deliver one of the best plumbing and heating services in Hampshire today. Established in 1998, Pentland Plumbing Services Ltd was set up to service local residents and businesses. Today the firm remain faithful to that, but in addition it works on large scale projects around the UK. Going into further detail, Kerrie begins by providing us with a brief overview of the firm, as well as offering us more of insight into its clientele. “Here at Pentland Plumbing, we typically work with homeowners and landlords to carry out plumbing and central heating repairs, commercial installations and all aspects of gas works including boiler repairs and bathroom installations. Having worked with many local businesses including Portsmouth Football Club, Barons BMW, Moto Rapido Ducati, Sunsail and Solent Breezes Holiday Park, we have gained a wealth of experience in all kinds of different projects.” Across Hampshire Pentland Plumbing are in direct competition with several other plumbing and heating companies, however as Kerrie goes on to explain, its commitment to customers is what truly helps separate the firm from the rest. “Typically, we aim to get to our customers within 24 hours and in some instances it will be the same day. Moreover, this is especially the case if your boiler breaks down and you have no hot water or heating.” Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, the firm has still managed to prosper during the pandemic as Kerrie explains further. “To ensure people had hot water and heating, we carried on working six days a week through the initial stages, putting ourselves at risk. Moreover, in an effort to support the NHS, we delivered water and food supplies to the front line. Recently, in a lovely letter, the NHS told us to charge them but instead we did this free of charge. “In addition, we managed to buy another local plumbing company as we knew the previous owner had passed away in 2017. While other companies have been laying staff off, we’ve had to move into a new office with our team growing in numbers.” Looking ahead to what the future holds for the firm, Kerrie signs off by revealing some of the exciting plans which the team at Pentland Plumbing have in store as we look ahead to 2021 and beyond. “Moving forward, having built a reputation for reliability and excellence of workmanship, we will be looking to maintain this to ensure we remain at the forefront of the plumbing and heating sector.
