Q1 2021
86 | Q1 2021 Sep20307 Supporting The Arts Dove Studios is an oasis of creativity, providing arts and crafts classes to children and adults. Having recently found success in SME News’ Greater London Enterprise Awards 2020, we got in touch with Cornelia Hartman to find out more about Dove Studio’s award-winning art teaching method. Established in 2012, Dove Studios aims to offer a creative space to nurture artistic ability through experimentation with a wide variety of media. Going into further detail, Cornelia begins by providing us with a brief overview of the firm, as well as offering us more of an insight into its clientele. “Here at Dove Studios, we provide learning opportunities through the making of arts and crafts. To help children and adults explore their creativity, we can offer hundreds of class materials from all over the world, sourced from countries like Spain, France, and Japan. With emotional literacy being one of the learning outcomes of our art sessions, we can provide an environment for those who need support in art creation at any level.” Across the capital there are several providers of arts and craft classes, but as Cornelia points out, the firm’s client approach and multi lingual resources enable Dove Studios to offer its clients a unique selling point. “With our client-led approach, we are intentional about finding the right art materials and art techniques for each client’s learning style. Moreover, as a multinational resource we can provide resources in French, English, Spanish and Italian which is further supported by a wealth of knowledge from three generations of professional artists.” The outbreak of COVID-19 has presented many challenges to businesses across the globe, and in this respect Dove Studios are no different. However, as Cornelia goes on to explain, even if a student has been in self-isolation, they have still been able to learn. “One of our major recent additions has been our lesson packs, which were born out of the need to get art materials to clients at home in situations like social distancing.” Looking ahead to what the future holds for the firm, the team at Dove Studios will continue to deliver an exceptional standard of teaching, one which earned them the accolade Best New Art Teaching Method 2020 in the Greater London Enterprise Awards 2020. Bringing the interview to a close, Cornelia signs off by sharing some of the firm’s exciting plans which lie ahead as we look ahead to 2021 and beyond. “Moving forward, we intend to expand our client base and as the world has become more conscientious about mental health, we see our role being quite central to this, particularly in regards to emotional literacy.” Company: Dove Studios Contact: Cornelia Hartman Website: www.dove-studios.com
