Jason Tate and his ex-wife began making wax melts after failing to find some in their area that were good quality and had strong fragrance. It was their friends and family loving the first batch that eventually lead them to start advertising the products on social media. What was only meant to be for personal use, quickly became a product that everyone wanted. On average it was delivering 30-40 plus orders a day which meant that the kitchen where it all began was too small to keep up with demand. Jason and his ex-wife got the keys to the first small unit in Normandy, and soon after employed people to help with making and packing orders because of the rise in orders. The orders didn’t stop increasing, with returning customers letting their family and friends know about its products, it had to move premises twice more, and each time needing to employ more people to be able to meet the ever-growing demand. The team are who make it all possible, as they show up day in and day out to make, pack orders and do everything in between to be able to provide customers with its great products. Even though it began with wax melts, it now offers a wide range of products which include – wax snap bars, soy wax melts, candles, sizzlers, room sprays, scent ‘n’ vac, bath bombs, soap, hoover discs, car fresheners, all-purpose fragrance fresheners, and more. In addition, it now offers over 300 fragrances which include perfume and aftershave inspired by high street brands, as well as its most popular clean and fresh, fruity, and sweetshop categories. Supporting the community is something that Scentual Aromas does through supplying representatives who are single mothers, people with problems finding employment, or simply businesses that want to sell its products. In addition, it offers 10 scholarships to give to those who couldn’t afford the minimum spend to provide them with a head start in building their own business. During Covid-19, Jason took on two representatives that were struggling to find a job and, with financial stresses getting too much to cope with, this opportunity saved both of their lives. They both still work as representatives today which is something Jason is very proud of. This works as an example that if you are struggling you should hold on, there are opportunities or people out there that will help you – and it also is a reminder to always be kind, you truly don’t know what someone is going through. The company has great values and people love its products, so it comes as no surprise that it has been recognised by Northern Enterprise Awards 2022.
