In the eyes of Kids Critters, children are not broken, difficult, or too much. They simply need to be understood, supported, and empowered. Meeting the social, emotional, and educational needs of the neurodivergent youth with a unique and holistic therapeutic approach, Kids Critters offers connection, calm, and confidence from its base in Surrey. Specialising in animal-assisted therapy, the company is independent, specialist, and committed to nurturing growth. Founder Tiffany Grimley was on hand for more. International Therapeutic Education & Mentoring Excellence Award 2026 Having seen first-hand just how powerful animal-assisted therapy can be, this thanks to her background as a SEN consultant and a lifelong passion for working with children, Tiffany Grimley established Kids Critters as a specialist SEN consultancy to support neurodivergent children, young people, adults, and their families. Being up close with a gentle creature can help calm a dysregulated nervous system, spark curiosity, improve self-assuredness, and open transformative communication pathways. This is why Kids Critters serves as a place where emotional wellbeing, education, and therapeutic animal encounters come together safely, supporting children and young people in a way that brings them joy but which is delivered with their unique needs in mind. “Through interactive exotic animal encounters, I bring learning to life for families, schools, and groups of all ages. Whether you are exploring curriculumbased topics, diving into conservation themes, or simply enjoying gentle creature cuddles, these experiences make learning feel like an adventure.” Its animal-assisted therapy is just the beginning, as this service is complemented by a unique combination of educational mentoring, parent coaching for neurodivergent families, mindset coaching, and one-on-one support, all of which help to build confidence, enhance emotional wellbeing, develop practical strategies, and achieve positive outcomes. As a mother to neurodivergent children herself, Tiffany is passionate about ensuring that all individuals across this broad spectrum have access to the support, opportunities, and understanding they need to thrive. She looks to make a positive difference in neurodivergent lives every day, and, guided by her values of compassion, integrity, authenticity, resilience, courage, growth, balance, and possibility, Tiffany helps people to find their place and make meaningful contributions – even when their paths differ from the traditional one. Since the best outcomes can only be achieved when parents understand their child’s needs, feel confident in supporting them, and are able to maintain their own mental and emotional wellbeing, Tiffany created the Empowered Mum Intervention. This programme helps mothers who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, unheard, or isolated, providing them with the knowledge, tools, strategies, and support they need. For the rest of 2026 and beyond, participants will continue to receive specialist ASD, PDA, ADHD, SEND and neurodiversity support, as well as coaching on mindset, wellbeing, confidence, resilience, and personal growth. Wider expansion is also planned across its services, with any growth being rooted in Kids Critters’ unique ethos. Across the board, listening is central to Tiffany’s approach, allowing her to remain deeply connected with the needs, experiences, and challenges of individuals and families. Kids Critters particularly looks to champion those who feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. This approach, which focuses on the person rather than the diagnosis, reflects the holistic nature of Tiffany’s work. Supporting this is Tiffany’s international background. Tiffany explained: “Having been born and raised internationally, I have been exposed to different cultures, ways of thinking, and approaches to life. Living without borders has shaped my belief that there is rarely only one way to do something. This perspective enables me to see possibilities where others may see barriers and to develop creative, personalised solutions that make a real difference for neurodivergent individuals and their families.” Kids Critters itself has gone international as a result, and it today delivers international autism and ADHD support through online coaching and mentoring. Helping people across borders is something Tiffany remains passionate about as she continues to grow Kids Critters, as well as her other company, Splice Property Solutions. Whereas Kids Critters focuses on supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, Splice Property Solutions was founded with the underlying purpose of creating opportunity, solving problems, and improving quality of life. This highlights the focus Tiffany has on people across her entrepreneurial journey, and this is what continues to guide her hand. Reflecting on her journey, Tiffany summarised: “Ultimately, everything I do is guided by the belief that everyone has value, everyone has unique strengths, and everyone can contribute in their own way, even if that path looks different from what society considers the norm.” For embodying this to the full, Kids Critters is more than fitting of this recognition.
