Southern Enterprise Awards 2021
124 | Southern Enterprise Awards 2021 Aug21322 Based in Old Woking, Surrey, Venus Health & Beauty Limited is committed to providing its clients with the very best the market has to offer. The company, founded by Mohbeen Karim, works on the principle that everyone has the ability to create a better version of themselves. Mohbeen has always had a passion for health and beauty, but it wasn’t until she had completed a Masters degree and spent five years working in the corporate sector that she decided to make her dream a reality. In February 2010, Mohbeen established her own business, Venus Health & Beauty Limited. To Mohbeen, her mission was clear: “to actively nurture and promote beauty, and to improve people’s sense of wellbeing.” Mohbeen set out to gain qualifications in many specialist non-surgical beauty treatments, among them Intense Pulse Light (IPL). IPL is a form of light therapy used to treat skin imperfections such as rosacea, sun damage and age spots. It can also be used for permanent hair and thread vein removal. As well as IPL, Venus offers Dermalux LED Phototherapy and KRF Radio Frequency treatments to stimulate skin rejuvenation and resolve problem skin conditions. SkinPen Precision is also used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and uneven skin texture. All these treatments represent viable alternatives to surgical intervention. Often, positive results will be visible in as little as three treatments. One of Mohbeen’s favourite quotes comes from American poet and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou: “At the end of the day, people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel”. She carries this sentiment with her in her role everyday. Mohbeen not only wants her clients to feel a million dollars after their treatment, she also wants them to feel valued and understood. Currently, Venus’ customers are over 90% referral-based. This is testament to the exceptional personalised service that the company strives to deliver. Best Non-Surgical Treatment Service Salon - South East During lockdown, much of the beauty industry was left high and dry. But the bonds that a professional therapist forms with their clients are not easily broken. Venus ensured that it stayed in touch with clients via social media and staged online product demonstrations and coached its customers through self-care routines whilst they were unable to attend the salon. As Venus’ clients come from all backgrounds and age ranges, Mohbeen realised that some may have felt the effects of isolation more than others. To this end, Venus organised virtual coffee mornings too. Clients participated in live Q&A sessions with their therapists, but more importantly were able to connect with others, vital if they lived alone. Being passionate about lifelong learning, Mohbeen also took the opportunity to investigate industry trends and new products. She tells us about her outlook for the future: “I’ve never been more positive about the beauty and aesthetics industry. We are constantly looking for new innovations, we have recently introduced our latest treatments an ultrasound technology skin analysis system allowing us to determine underlying skin concerns for the face and body and radio frequency skin tightening and smoothing for the face and body; we’ll be able to offer our clients a full 360 o skincare programme.” As ever, Venus is committed to providing clients with the best treatments on the market and striving to exceed their expectations.
