Southern Enterprise Awards 2021

29 | Southern Enterprise Awards 2021 This inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming coffee shop is changing our perspective on customer service and hospitality as it takes care of its customers and offers a variety of cakes, toasties and paninis. We speak to Owner Jennifer Keeling about Love Coffee and how it operates as it wins twice at the Southern Enterprise Awards 2021. As a fully independent coffee house, Love Coffee strives to be the best it can be in such a competitive market. It prides itself on creating the most excellent atmosphere whilst serving top-quality coffee, food, and other drinks. With its ethics and caring team, Love Coffee provides an amazing place to go for your favourite treats. Joint-owner with her husband Gary, Jennifer Keeling says, “Love Coffee is best known for retaining our efficient and friendly staff, our variety of coffees and milkshakes, and our generous loyalty point scheme.” With two floors for drinking and dining, as well as a top floor for a staff only breakaway area, Love Coffee offers an extensive space for plenty of customers to enjoy its outstanding service and menu. “The older generation and people with mobility issues enjoy dining on the ground floor as we have good disabled access. We have three unisex toilets and disabled facilities alongside baby changing facilities,” Jennifer shares - Love Coffee cares for everyone who visits. “A lot of our customers are happy to dine alone, especially downstairs, as they know all our staff will make them feel welcome and chat to them,” Jennifer continues. “Families, professionals and the younger generation prefer dining on the second floor as the atmosphere is very relaxed.” Throughout the pandemic, Love Coffee worked tirelessly to keep the business open as a takeaway service so that regular customers could feel some kind of normality. Jennifer tells us, “Our takeaway service is very popular due to being good value for money, quick, and efficient.” Its takeaway service is something that it will continue offering for the foreseeable future of the business, meaning that customers can enjoy the Love Coffee menu in their favourite setting. “During the lockdowns, communicating with all of the staff was key and I was determined to boost staff morale and reassure them if they had any concerns. To motivate the team during lockdown, I offered short online training courses to include re-sitting their level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, Fire Marshal Course, Allergen Awareness Course and H&S which they gladly accepted and completed,” Jennifer explains. After all, by providing staff members with extensive training, they are equipped to be able to look after customers better. Overall, Love Coffee is happily providing training for staff, facilities and help for all, alongside a friendly family-like environment that creates a feeling of togetherness for everyone that visits.
