On 13th April 1991, Apex was founded by Raj Kumar Maini, who started out as the firm’s sole practitioner with just a handful of clients. Over the next 30 years, he worked hard to build and grow the business, transforming it from a small, local firm into a regional practice. Apex soon earned an excellent reputation for its efficient, high-quality, and client-focused service. During his time at Apex, Raj worked with more than 2,000 clients. Sadly, he passed away in 2021. The company was soon taken over by his eldest son, Rohit Maini, and his wife, Yesha Agrawal, who have not only managed to retain 97% of its existing client base but have also successfully diversified and grown the business. This has been possible thanks to the hard work of the wider Apex team, who rallied together to continue serving their clients. Since then, Apex has been fuelled by a new vision and energy. The team have worked to build on the company’s existing foundations, continuing Raj’s legacy of passion and dedication by delivering exceptional tailored services to their ever-growing client base. Today, Apex’s services can be divided into two tiers: compliance and consultancy. As part of its consultancy services, the company ensures that clients are adhering to the necessary requirements to file various tax returns and statutory accounts. It also provides company secretarial services. Moreover, under the consultancy tier, Apex explores how it can help clients reach the next financial level, offering them services that encompass CFO outsourcing, fundraising, M&A due diligence, business consultancy, and more. The firm has also recently acquired a sister company, Business Clan, that provides a variety of business consultancy services, including everything from marketing to HR to web design. Apex’s client base now consists of more than 1,000 clients that operate across a range of industries. However, its primary expertise lies in film, television, real estate, logistics, and technology. He explains, “A large part of our recruitment process involves our team’s assessment of the candidate’s character and personality. We believe that a skillset can be taught but it’s important to find candidates that will work well with the team.” In the coming years, Apex will continue to focus on the next chapter of its growth story. Having recently joined forces with Business Clan, the company will be able to provide its clients with a wider set of offerings. As well as this, Apex is excited to have kickstarted its international expansion with the opening of a new office in Dubai, where it is currently serving its first clients. The company is enthused by the entrepreneurial dynamic in the Middle East and looks forward to leveraging any opportunities the new location brings. With these two exciting projects underway, Apex looks forward to building out its teams whilst maintaining its excellent culture and high standards. It also plans to seek further acquisitions to continue its growth trajectory and achieve its ambitious goals.
