Ruby our Labrador has taken to living at the Brigands and is very popular with our guests. We provide doggie beer and doggy sausage for the dogs and they are welcome to dine next to their owners in the restaurant and all our bedrooms are dog friendly. We are thrilled to have been awarded the dog friendly British pub of the year. It was a great surprise and thank our customers for nominating us for this prestigious award.” Looking ahead, Kevin is optimistic about the future of the Brigands Inn, as he proudly concludes. “As a result of continuous improvement, we expect our business to grow, as more customers get to share the unique Brigands Inn experience. We aim to grow further by entering the events market, with special focus on local entertainment events and weddings.” Fundamentally, in a world which is becoming increasingly divided, we aim to share our Brigand’s hospitality with everyone. Everyone is welcome and we aim to tailor our offer to meet their special needs. Nothing is too much trouble. If we can, we will.” This award is particularly significant for the inn, as Kevin and Sue are very proud of being dog friendly, as Kevin highlights. The Brigands Inn is a beautiful 15th Century Coaching Inn located at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park at the junction of theMain A470 (the main trunk road joining North to SouthWales) and the A458 (the main route if you are traveling from the midlands to the coast or Snowdonia). We caught up with the owners of this unique inn to find out more about how it offers a warmwelcome to locals and visitors alike. Best Dog Friendly Pub in the UK 2018 from the trade, winning a number of National and international awards. We have been inducted into the Trip advisor Hall of Fame for consistently achieving great reviews and have recently won the Britain’s Best Breakfast. We are particularly pleased to have been the awarded British dog friendly pub of the year award. We offer great local hospitality, providing service from friendly local staff. “To ensure quality, our food and drink is all locally sourced. We offer contemporary Welsh food, made fresh to order and the business is thriving. We now are open all year and the feedback that we are getting from locals and visitors to the area is exceptional. Word of mouth has played a big part in our success and we are consistently getting great reviews on all the social media review platforms from, TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com and Expedia. The Brigands is steeped in history. Its original purpose was as a coaching inn and a major stop off point between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury, with many original features still in evidence, from the stables and coach shed, to the low ceilings and exposed beams. The Brigands has a growing reputation for fresh, home cooked, locally sourced food and drink, additionally there are nine tastefully restored letting bedrooms. Kevin and Sue took over the business two years ago.
