We invited JonathanHunt to share the secrets behind the success of this innovativeManchester based firm. As dentistry is such an important market, and there are many training providers on the market, Tipton Training has had to work hard to differentiate itself from its competitors. Jonathan explores how this is achieved thanks to the firm’s experienced trainers and practical methods. “Dentistry is a hands-on profession, and as such our courses have a good balance on theory and practical work. We give a scientific backing to the art of dentistry which our Founder, Professor Paul Tipton, and his team have practiced for years. As such our courses have Lecturers who have worked in Dental Practice and grown businesses and have more real- world experience. Some of our course are live patient courses, where dentist treat patients under supervision. We organise course days in Manchester and London for ease.” Working nationwide helps the firm to ensure that it reaches a wide range of dentists, but, as Jonathan explains, being headquartered in Manchester allows the firm many exciting opportunities. “Our Headquarters is based in Manchester, but, we manage courses in both Manchester and London. Previously we have also offered courses in Scotland and Ireland. Being based in Manchester has been great for us, as it is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers a great mix of people and opportunities. Between Cricket and Football, we usually manage to be among the best Established in 1989, Tipton Training has been delivering high quality dental education for 29 years and during that time the team have trained approximately 3000 dentists. Over the years the firm’s service offering has grown, however the firm’s focus remains on providing quality support and training to clients, as Jonathan is proud to highlight. “The courses we offer here at Tipton Training are Post Graduate level courses and can lead to a PG Certificate and PG Diploma. We have recently received accreditation from a recognised UK Awarding Body, making us the first private training organisation to achieve this status. Our courses are 12 months long and include, on average, one face to face meeting per month. The areas of focus on our course are Restorative Dentistry, Tooth Preparation (Phantom Head Course), Aesthetic Course and Implant Course. “Predominantly these courses are offered to qualified dentists who are GDC registered. The majority of the clients we see today are young dentists who have just qualified and want to set-up a private practice or are NHS Dentists who want to undertake more private work. Our courses help these clients to differentiate themselves from other dentists on the market and allow clients to feel safe and supported when they seek treatment from them.” and thanks to the Universities around we have a good talent pool as well.” This talent pool helps the firm to work with some of the best trainers and staff on the market. Having grown significantly over the nearly 30 years that it has been in business, Tipton Training remains committed to the family values that helped drive it to the success it enjoys today, as Jonathan is eager to emphasise. “Over the years Tipton Training have grown from being a small family business to a medium size business but in many ways we still retain the family values that the business inherited. We treat each other and our delegates respectfully and try to deal with any delegate enquiries with as much sensitivity as possible.
