66 SME NEWS / UK Enterprise Awards 2018 , Best Physiotherapy & Pilates Provider 2018 - Cheshire CoActive physio UKE18085 CoActive Physio is a Chester based physiotherapy and Pilates provider dedicated to offering clients unique services tailored to meet their individual needs, as we found out when we profiled the firm and provided an insight into the secrets behind its incredible success. Sarah qualified in 2007 from Kings College London with an MSc honours in Physiotherapy and is currently working towards her further Master’s degree in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice. She has worked both within the National Health Service and the private sector. Sarah started her physiotherapy career at the Royal Derby Hospital soon after qualifying and worked in areas of orthopaedics, respiratory medicine, neurological rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal outpatients. Having worked her way up to a senior position, she additionally taught medical students from Nottingham university and supervised student and junior physiotherapists. Sarah has worked in private practice in CoActive Physio is run by Sarah Stewart, an experienced and fully chartered musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Sarah set up the practice in 2016 with the aim of providing improved accessibility and a quality musculosketal outpatient service for Chester and the surrounding area. The clinic is open 7 days a week with a mobile clinic phone – so clients don’t have to wait for “opening times” to contact someone for advice or to make a booking. The clinic also opens on bank holidays and incorporates an online booking system for those with busy lives who find it easier to look at the diary online and book at their convenience. Chester since 2011 - her passion is musculoskeletal physiotherapy and she has specialised in this area for the last nine years. Today, Sarah is a certified Pilates instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), incorporating the Pilates method into her treatments as well as teaching both one to one sessions and classes. Acupuncture is a further qualification she has obtained and she finds it complements traditional physiotherapy methods well. Sarah also has a BSc degree in Psychology and finds this is especially applicable when treating patients with chronic pain and sports injuries – she treats her patients holistically and strongly believes in the link between mind and body. Two other experienced Senior Physiotherapists make up the CoActive Physio Team – Abi Okell and Helen Moore. Abi Graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2010 with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy. Her first role after graduating from university was in the NHS, where she worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, and developed her passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
