We spoke to Kay Smith as we looked to explore the secrets behind the firm’s fantastic success. the company receives is extremely positive. “Here at masonbryant, our firm’s main mission is to provide good customer service, to be honest and provide a trustworthy service where our clients feel they will return time and time again. As every client is different and has varying requirements or needs, being an independent company, we can adapt our services to meet their requirements. Many of our clients love this and continually recommend their friends or colleagues to use us. Additionally, we also have tenants and purchasers coming back when they wish to move as they have been happy with the service they were provided with and want to use us again.” Differentiating masonbryant from other estate agents within the region is again the focus that the team places on customer service. Kay comments on the belief that customer satisfaction and loyalty is a major reason why clients work with the firm. “Across the sector, our main competitors are corporate and other independent agencies, and we feel our genuine friendly service and always being transparent, along with our adaptable services has shown that our clients and customers have been happy as they have come back time and time again. Many of our clients and customers refer and continue to recommend us to new clients/ customers as they have been happy with our service. Some of our existing clients have worked with me for over 15 years and transferred their business from other agencies when they knew I had set up on my own.” Being based in the UK, Kay and her team work hard to keep up to date with many of the relevant trends that are appearing in the estate agent industry. Kay tells us what specific developments there are which her team has noticed recently. “Within the UK, we are seeing an increase in demand for rental property and a lack of new property coming available, this is mainly due to the increases in tax for landlord’s and the lack of opportunity for buy to let landlords.” Another crucial aspect of masonbryant’s ongoing success is its internal culture, which means it is able to attract the best talent in the industry and transfer its happy working environment into its services to work with clients. Not only this, but the company is also environmentally friendly, and this has benefitted the team in their ability to deliver the most cutting-edge service possible. “Being family run, we employ friendly and approachable staff. We continually send our staff on training courses ensuring everyone keeps up to date on the latest legislation. We transact as much as possible via email now to limit the amount of paper used, also meaning our clients can save documents easier. We are able to send yearly statements to help them with their tax returns and also have a text facility which is useful to remind tenants and clients of certain requirements.” Ultimately, the future looks incredibly bright for masonbryant as Kay and the team continue to grow the company. Importantly, for Kay and Katy, they want to retain their existing clients base and grow as it has done over the last 10 years. masonbryant was born in 2009 under the stewardship of Katy Tsigarides and Kay Smith, as they looked to offer a sales service as a well as a letting service. Originally Katy was a Bryant, and Kay was a Mason, and even through marriages have seen their surnames change, the duo felt they wanted to keep the original company name as they had built up a good reputation. Possessing an enhanced reputation across the Sussex region, masonbryant has two offices; one in Eastbourne and the other in Pevensey Bay. Since its inception, the company has grown from strength to strength, despite starting in a recession. The company offers a letting and management service for all residential lettings as well as holiday lets, and estate agent service too. Kay starts off the discussion by outlining the firm’s overall mission and goes into detail about what methods the team employ in order to ensure that its goals are reached.
