Recently, we profiled the firm to find out more about the remarkable success they have had throughout the years. Almost three decades later, and the firm now provides a complete office fit out and refurbishment design, in addition to working on new build and workplace projects. At Todds, the experienced team offer knowledgeable advice and professional design services on all projects they undertake. Working in both the commercial and educational sectors, the team at Todds aim to create inspiring workspaces for both adults and children to enjoy. They offer a local stationery service, which enables them not only deliver offices and schools with a complete service and a furnished space, but they can also provide the equipment necessary as well. Todds have right the tools needed to fully transform any space, because they work with a vast range of various trades. In recent years, the team have seen growth in their refurbishment division and they now have a full turnkey solution, where they can handle every aspect of the project from concept to finish. This is an important factor because it means they can keep more elements of the design in-house, and not have to source things they need from other companies. Health and safety is a big part of what they do, and Todds will always ensure that all safety compliances are met at every stage of the project. The element of design is at the heart of all of Todds’ projects, and they are constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve what they can offer to their clients. As fashion and trends change, there is a need within all aspects of the design industry to adapt accordingly, and Todds ensure that they do this quickly and efficiently. All of the products that they have are made to order in the UK, as it allows Todds to ensure the quality of the product and to evolve the style of the products. There has been a change in demand in recent years and they are now in a position where they can offer more bespoke pieces, which they can craft themselves. As Todds continues to grow and expand, they are ensuring that they continue training and developing their installations team so they can take on more projects. They have invested in training in the fitting of bespoke pieces, such as benching, as well as training in decoration works. Additionally, they have also opened a brand-new flooring division which has enabled them to undertake further training in fitting carpeting and flooring. This is something else that can now be done in house. Todds gathers most of their materials and supplies from the local area, which allows them to reduce overhead costs and therefore be able to concentrate more of their finances on developing their workforce. Todds aim to keep everything they do in house, and to this end, they wish to have a fully trained projects team. They want to be able to carry out all projects presented to them. When they look to hire a new team member, they don’t necessarily require them to have prior experience, as they provide all training and provide opportunities to prove themselves in the company. They provide all of their staff with goals and initiatives to keep the workplace varied and exciting. They hope to provide much more than jobs, but career opportunities. Family is a very important word when it comes to describing the Todds team; and they ensure that the individuals they hire are as passionate as everybody else. Going forward, the next step in terms of expansion for Todds is to expand the marketing and design teams. There is growing demand for refurbishments and furniture and the team need to be able to cope with the extra need for 3D designing and space planning. The current social distancing rules mean that there is a new demand for space planning, and so the team needs to be expanded. Finally, there are also plans to have a brand new websites which will help to reach out to potential new clients, as well as a new and improved marketing plan.
