147 | UK Enterprise Awards 2021 Most Trusted PR Agency 2021 Prior to establishing M Seven Public Relations, Mandy worked for an in- house PR agency and was frequently seen at large-scale venues in the performing arts industry. Having always wanted to run her own consultancy, in 2016 she took the decision to reset the compass and launch M Seven Public Relations. To start, Mandy provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into its clientele. “M Seven Public Relations works across the Midlands and UK to provide bespoke targeted PR campaigns. By building close relationships with clients, the firm is able to identify the stories that guarantee headline news or features in national, local and regional media. It’s a fantastic way to build a client’s brand in the press without them paying for costly advertising campaigns. To protect a client’s reputation, the firm specialises in corporate PR and brand management and should the need arise, social media and blog content creation, PR support, event management, marketing, press photography and podcasting. “From large-scale events and outdoor festivals, to theatre, production tours, film festivals and dance, our work usually falls across the performing arts industry. However, in recent years the firm has attracted interest from those working in areas such as body conditioning, education, charities, psychotherapy, beauty, pet services, sustainability and mental health”. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach, the firm instead prefers to tailor campaigns to each client accordingly, as Mandy explains further. “No client is the same so each campaign is adapted to meet different demands. Typically, it starts with us identifying the stories our clients should be telling before a bespoke communications strategy is created. Naturally, this enables clients to concentrate on running their business knowing that we are working hard behind the scenes to increase their profile in the media. As a bunch of chatty, results-driven and passionate people, we get excited when clients come to us with a hunger to raise their business profile because it makes for a great partnership and helps us to deliver bespoke, positive campaigns that enable our clients to stand out from the crowd”. The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in many people losing their jobs, working from home and consuming more news content online than ever before. Despite seeing a drop in the number of clients themselves at the start of the pandemic, the firm saw an opportunity to work with clients who were streaming events, workshops, discussions and performances online. Mandy adds, “To ensure clients regularly appeared in the press during lockdowns, we constantly delivered media content. For example we adapted quickly to launch a brand new crime thriller online, helping with ideas for speakers and gaining full page features and live radio. This was a great campaign to work on and raising the author’s media profile at such a challenging time was hugely satisfying. “Over the last year people have become more aware of a lack of diversity in the workplace and the effects their business may have on the environment,” Mandy continues. “Naturally, this has created open conversations and PR opportunities for us to help clients tell their story in the media of how they are improving sustainability and recruitment”. Moving forward, Mandy discusses the major benefits of the firm’s location before sharing some of its future plans. “The Midlands has recently gone through huge change with business investment, improved transport and major construction work. With Birmingham attracting businesses out of London, the latter combined with the city’s cultural opportunities provides a great platform for M7 PR to work from. Looking ahead, the firm is keen to work closely with smaller businesses that have been impacted by the pandemic, offering our PR skills to help them achieve growth. Recently, we have relaunched our website and have seen a rise in client enquiries and new contracts as a result. Currently, the firm is making plans to collaborate with more partners to increase our portfolio”. Company: M Seven Public Relations Contact: Mandy Rose (Founder) Email:
