Recently, Shaz has noticed that litigation matters are increasing. This is due to the economy as well as the effects of Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic and, as such, there is a backlog. He elaborates on the how this has impacted the firm. “There have been increased property sales and certain sectors are helping to maintain cashflow, including asset purchases, whilst we undergo a period of instability. The legal system in the United Kingdom is one of the best in the world and provides clarity and gives security to the foundations of increased commerce. We have increased our insurance and taken on more consultants to deal with this increase.” At Pactum Law, regular staff appraisals are carried out and clear briefing sheets for client services are provided, in order to ensure that all staff can continue to provide the same exceptional level of service that the firm has become renowned for. “We may only be a small firm but we look for people who adopt the attitude that ‘the client is king’ and who have empathy and care,” Shaz says, and tells us that clients who attend the offices often have stressful ongoing litigation disputes. “Our aim is to ease the stress and not add to it by being polite, courteous and always going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure client quality.
