We speak to Owners and Founders, Michelle and Nicky Allan, about the company and what it provides. The Embroidery Shop is a family run business and, having come from humble beginnings due to starting from the basement of owner Michelle Allan’s house many years ago, it now finds itself situated within its own premises in Edinburgh on the outskirts of Holyrood Park. The small yet bustling shop provides a whole host of products and services, including in-house garment embroidery, vinyl transfer printing and direct-to-garment printing services, with customers ranging from individuals wanting customised gifts to businesses looking to implement staff uniforms and workwear branded with their logo. Using only the latest machinery, such as the Brother PR embroidery machines, the shop is capable of embroidering logos of 10 colours and more, as well as providing solid colour transfer vinyl printing and multicolour transfer printing. “Our core values have always been to provide customers with a professional, cost effective way of having their logo, designs or text embroidered or printed onto garments or gifts,” explains Michelle. However, the shop’s services go above and beyond simple embroidery options and Nicky emphasises that customers have the option to purchase the uniforms and workwear directly from The Embroidery Shop, as well as supplying their own garments if they wish.
