As an international award-winning coach and, for the last two years running, being voted one of the 100 Most Influential Disabled People in the UK, Chris has created a formula to assist in the transformation of disabled people to either achieve promotion or start a business and work to their full potential - an ‘enabled life.’ Chris’ personal brand is Enabled Entrepreneur and, through its sister company, The Life Coach Station, he offers an insight into how clients can get the three fundamental elements of Mindset, Money and Me to work for them. Chris’ whole business is built around the concept of helping customers to become enabled in all areas of their lives. “Everything must flow, including getting the psychology right - the shift from a disabled to an enabled mindset,” he begins. “My customers often say that my coaching style is a bit like being taken by the collar and given a shake, but in a nice way!” Founder of The Life Coach Station, Chris Catt is an award-winning coach and mentor who is committed to helping business owners overcome their challenges and run successful companies. He tells us more about his ethos and the services he can provide. Chris believes that what really sets him apart is what many in the inclusion and diversity sector like to call ‘lived experience’. For Chris, his disability has given him the life experience to be able to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk too. Living with a long-term eye condition, Chris found himself stuck in a rut with a dependence on a career in the supported employment field that he loathed. Fast forward nine years and Chris learned to go from ‘dependant’ to ‘intra- dependent’ by breaking free and becoming an Enabled Entrepreneur. “In marketing we are often asked if we are B2B or B2C – well, I’m human to human or H2H!” he laughs. “I begin with the mindset, or the disabled mindset, and help my customers to move to where they want to be, which is an enabled life, by becoming an Enabled Entrepreneur using my Enabled Entrepreneur Elevator programme.” The programme of which Chris speaks provides customers with many tools and resources to help them on their path, including a 12-month life road map, live mentoring group sessions and Q&A, access to a full training portal so members can learn at their own pace, peer-to-peer community support, and ready to use marketing material. A huge challenge for Chris due to the Covid-19 pandemic was the lack of face-to-face human contact. However, the move to doing everything online has provided him with more opportunities to focus on additional support for his Enabled Entrepreneurs plus, in his words, “there is more time to really ‘make the difference that makes all the difference’.” However, Chris has noticed certain trends emerging out of the pandemic which have affected his business, and the industry, too. “I think for me the biggest trend has been how the world of work has changed and what was once thought of as minority issues are now mainstream,” he explains. “Many people have had to learn to work flexibly and work from home. For many disabled people working from home has been the difference between success and failure. They had asked for this for years and now everyone wants to be just like them - working from home!” Being such an influential and inspirational figure, it’s no surprise that Chris and his business have recently been awarded the prestigious accolade of Most Empowering PWD Entrepreneurial Support Coach 2021, and Chris is determined to continue his good work, helping to empower more people along the way.
