SME News UK Enterprise Awards 2025/ 76 Best Paediatric Occupational Therapy Clinic 2025 – London Every child is different, each with their own unique ways of seeing and experiencing the world around them. Some require additional support and care, in the form of paediatric occupational therapy – a specialist therapy that combines approaches and techniques to maximise a child’s engagement, achievement, and independence in all aspects of their daily life. Today, we celebrate Dots for Children, a paediatric occupational therapy clinic recognised for its exceptional endeavours in the UK Enterprise Awards 2025. We learned more from Diana Pierags, Director and Clinical Lead Therapist, below. Based in Southwark, Dots for Children is a private paediatric occupational therapy clinic catering to London and its surrounding areas. The clinic provides support to children and young people of all ages and backgrounds, as well as collaborating closely with parents, guardians, and educational establishments to upskill their capabilities and formulate holistic care plans that go to the heart of the issue – enabling clients to thrive without creating dependency on the therapist. Dots for Children is overseen by Diana Pierags, a clinical specialist in paediatric occupational therapy with extensive experience in supporting children and young people at every age and stage of their journey. Diana qualified in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and completed a MSc Advancing Practice in Occupational Therapy in 2016. Passionate about research and working with children and young adults with complex conditions and backgrounds, Diana is committed to providing a truly thorough, personalised service for every child she serves, empowering them to truly thrive. To achieve this mission, Dots for Children delivers a range of services to clients and their families, offering assessments, interventions, and training at an array of locations, including the client’s home, educational environments, hospitals, and residential settings. Alongside this, the organisation is also in the process of establishing an online platform that will enable access to those who cannot access paediatric occupational therapy services in their current locations. Its comprehensive suite of services comprises telehealth sessions and virtual assessments; home and school visits for treatment and assessment, with reports; training for carers, support and teaching staff, and other professionals; expert witness services; supervision and mentoring for professionals, sensory integration therapy, EHCP work and assessments; transition support; as well as group work and individual support. All paediatric occupational therapy sessions provided by Dots for Children are first determined by either provided reports or the outcome of an assessment conducted by the organisation. This ensures that the child is ready for therapy, and whether different intervention or professional input may be more useful for their situation. Following the assessment, therapy sessions are adapted closely to meet the needs of each child, with certain therapies such as sensory integration requiring a specific method. At each therapy session, a carer or educational staff member must be present so that they can implement the learnings into their care throughout the week. This is an integral aspect of Dots for Children’s service offerings – the organisation is committed to ensuring that those close to the client are also provided with knowledge and skills. This approach means that the individuals surrounding and supporting the client in their daily lives are equipped to provide care and support while maximising their autonomy, helping children, young people, and their families become as independent as possible. Across its services, Dots for Children works tirelessly to ensure optimal results for the families it serves. “We strive to provide high quality, evidence-based practices to ensure that our clients achieve their true potential in independence and meaningful activities,” Diana told us. “We bring a high level of expertise to each client; our staff is offered autonomy, and I trust that each therapist is competent in their own area. I recruit staff that I can offer work in the area of their strengths to ensure effectivity. Our staff are enthusiastic and experienced, willing to go the extra mile for their clients.” Over the years, Dots for Children has developed an expert understanding of child development and paediatric conditions, enabling the organisation to deliver paediatric occupational therapy sessions in a way that is both child-centred and within the context of their families and environmental demands. We learned that moving forward, Dots for Children will be focusing on establishing an online platform to broaden access to its clients, regardless of financial and locational needs. This will be another step forward for the organisation, in its mission to aid children and young people of all ages and backgrounds in becoming confident, happy, and independent in their daily lives – a mission that has earned Dots for Children the well-deserved title of Best Paediatric Occupational Therapy Clinic 2025 – London.
