Following a prestigious win in the UK Enterprise Awards 2026, we speak to Rob, Co-Founder and Owner of Remedy Car Parts, about the ups and downs he’s experienced over the years, and how the firm is poised for future growth. With 25+ years of motor trade experience and a wealth of supporting knowledge, Remedy Car Parts (Remedy) is a small family business, consisting of a husband-and-wife team, Rob and Kania Harrison, during the week, joined by the couple’s two daughters on the weekends and over the numerous school holidays. Catering to the trade and retail customer, but more so to the enthusiast, Remedy offers the best products it can find at reasonable prices. Being 100% independent, the firm is able to hunt down many products at lower prices and pass the savings onto its customers. On top of supplying the best products quickly and efficiently, Remedy also offers a fitting service to its customers on-site, marking itself out as a one-stop shop for DIY car enthusiasts. “I set this business up to provide a better service to the trade locally, and for a trusted and knowledgeable source locally for the car enthusiast,” explains Rob, one half of the dynamic duo. “We provide top-quality products at internet competitive prices, and as much as we are often way under local pricing, we remain focused on ourselves rather than what others are doing around us.” Remedy stays ahead of the curve in such a competitive industry by being so hands-on Being based in Jersey, the firm does not see UK trends emerging as much on the island, however Rob has noticed that customers return to him as he offers an honest and trusted service – always happy to help out a fellow car enthusiast to source the exact products needed, and get the best price available. It’s not always being plain sailing for the company, and over the years Rob and Kania have battled with four house moves, five premises relocations, two babies, Brexit, and the global Covid-19 pandemic, as well as experiencing three floodings and a couple of major storms to boot – all whilst continuing to trade relatively uninterrupted! “We started our business journey with limited resources and a lot of determination,” Rob laughs, remembering the tough times. “We have stuck with this when it was so easy to give up on it!” But challenges are second nature to Remedy as the firm’s Jersey location does come with its own unique obstacles. For example, living on a small yet expensive island sees logistical issues arising from time to time. “We are in a bit of a squeeze located in Jersey,” Rob elaborates. “We prefer to deal with suppliers in the UK, but our positioning is not always plain sailing, especially when it comes to new suppliers not already clued up on our customs and excise system.” To counter this, Rob and the team try to keep as much good stock to hand as possible so that clients do not see the limitations or experience any negativity within the sector. “Every step of the way, our commitment to quality service and our customers remains at the heart of everything we do.” Now, Rob is looking towards the future for the family business.
