UK Enterprise Awards 2026/ 26 Best Pet-Friendly Holiday Cottage Collection 2026 - Cotswolds What could be better than a break in the English countryside? Highly rated for his attentiveness and warm welcomes (which often include a homemade cake), Andrew Scott manages several well-appointed, dog-friendly properties, opening the gateway for guests to explore the Cotswolds in all of their glory. We find out more from Andrew as he celebrates success in the UK Enterprise Awards 2026. Three beautifully appointed, independently owned self-catering cottages make up the Cotswold Cottage Holidays portfolio. Located in the stunning village of Broadway in the heart of The Cotswolds, owner Andrew Scott and his team have been running the holiday lets since 1987, with a personal approach to ensure that his guests’ stay is as relaxing and peaceful as possible. Often hailed as ‘the jewel of the Cotswolds’, Broadway is renowned as one of the most picturesque villages in Britain with its wealth of Cotswold stone cottages, historic buildings, and an impressive tree-lined High Street boasting unique shops and dining venues, making it the ideal spot to ‘get away from it all.’ Perfectly situated for touring around the local Cotswold towns and villages, with Cheltenham and Shakespeare’s Stratford each just 25 minutes' drive away, Broadway plays host to many National Trust properties and notable gardens nearby. For the more active visitor, Broadway is central for many local horse racing and golf courses. For those keen walkers, Broadway has a wonderful selection of walking routes and is also situated on the Cotswold Way National Trail. Andrew started on his letting portfolio by owning what would become an award-winning Inn in Broadway, having five letting rooms and a very strong food and drink trade, winning The Good Pub Guide Value Pub of the Year 2016, as well as a number of CAMRA awards. In 1987, Andrew began growing the business by adding the holiday homes, before selling the inn to concentrate solely on the cottages. Clients are varied. Whilst being predominantly from the UK, Andrew tells us that he also sees a lot of American and European guests – eager to experience the typical, quintessential English village lifestyle. “We are seeing a number of retired clients doing a ‘staycation’ due to regular travel disruptions affecting holidays overseas,” he explains. “Being very fortunate that we get so many clients return regularly, we advise of any incoming additional attractions which are in the area. For example, the Clarkson's Farm series on Amazon television has recently highlighted the Cotswolds being less than 20 miles away, which has been very helpful in bringing in new visitors to the area.” Taking advantage of the changing seasons, the three cottages get particularly busy around Christmas time in line with the switching on of the Christmas lights in Broadway. In response to this increasingly popular time, Andrew offers mid-week and weekend breaks away. Meanwhile, the cottages themselves are the epitome of Olde English Cotswold charm. Laburnum Cottage is quietly situated up a private drive way, with parking for one car and its own private garden. It is positioned next to Broadway Court, which is a very old building built in mellow honeycoloured Cotswold stone, with beautiful black and white timbers. What’s more, this beautiful two-bedroom home is also dog friendly, meaning that your four-legged friends can join you for a breathtakingly beautiful stay, and enjoy the scenic walks in the surrounding area. Lower Mill Cottage is similarly kitted out in traditional English cottage décor. Featuring parking and access to an EV charger, the twobedroom dog-friendly space benefits from a mature private garden with a stream running through it. Finally, March Hare Cottage is the latest addition to Cotswold Cottage Holidays portfolio. A 1800s period cottage, it is a beautifully refurbished Vale of Evesham 19th Century holiday home, ideally located in the historic village of Bretforton, just moments from the renowned Fleece Inn, and just five miles from Broadway village. Set in another of Worcestershire’s prettiest villages, this charming cottage was built around 1805 and features a lovely flagstone floor and impressive inglenook chimney fireplace, blending timeless character with highquality contemporary living. Finished to an exceptional standard throughout, the cottage offers stylish interiors, modern comforts, and a private walled garden - perfect for relaxing countryside escapes. Once again, this dog-friendly property allows for the entire family, even the furry kind, to enjoy a break in some of the UK’s most glorious countryside. “Learn from both successes and failures, and constantly evaluate your clients' requirements.” Whilst Andrew may be an experienced businessman, having successfully run his company for nearly four decades, he has had his fair share of challenges over the years. His response to weathering these storms is to remain adaptable in the face of adversity. “Just copying an idea can often have a poor outcome, but adapting an idea is a different matter,” he elaborates. “Learn from both successes and failures, and constantly evaluate your clients' requirements. Some need more help, whereas others are more independent-minded, but appreciate it when they know help is in the background.” Recently, for his commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience for both human and canine visitors, Andrew and Cotswold
