UK Legal Awards 2026/ 12 Best Employment Law Firm 2026 – Kent A growing employment law firm in Kent, Hunter law boasts specialist employment law advisers and an encompassing approach to managing its clients’ cases, resulting in its reputation as one of the most esteemed legal firms in the region. The firm was founded by namesake employment lawyer Jenna Hunter nearly a decade ago, and approaching the 10th anniversary of Hunter Law, we were delighted to catch up with Jenna following her firm’s recognition in our UK Legal Awards 2026. Hunter Law is a specialist employment law firm with its headquarters in Kent but with expert lawyers and advisers located throughout England and Wales. From sole traders and SMEs to international corporations, the team advise clients across a number of sectors, many in insurance but also across media, engineering, security, and charity. Businesses in these areas are provided with a full range of advice on employment law, from whistleblowing and discrimination through to redundancy, TUPE, and more. Irrespective of which area of employment law it is lending its expertise to, the overarching mission of Hunter Law remains to provide straightforward and practical advice to every client, making their stressful situations that bit easier. A client-centred approach and the utmost care in creating excellent working relationships with every business then see those organisations that it touches empowered to run better. Beyond its far-reaching expertise and dedication to clients, setting the team of professional women behind Hunter Law apart is that they consider themselves to not only be legal advisers, but also a key part of the client’s decision-making process. Jenna explained: “Our approach is responsive and clear and we aim to be the strategic partner of all our clients, however big or small. We are proactive, commercially focused, and provide tailored advice, often allowing us to anticipate issues before they arise.” Clients also benefit from the flexible support models the team deliver, with options including an on-demand service charged at an hourly rate or long-term retained services. Training sessions are then delivered to clients both at their own premises or at its offices, with these covering any developments in employment law, of which there is no shortage. Across these provisions, the focus on pragmatic, accessible, clear, strategic, and sector-specific advice remains unchanged, and this is the foundation of the partnerships built. Leaning into some of the developments touched on above, Jenna told us just how fastchanging employment law is here in the UK at the moment, this due to the transformation brought about by the Employment Rights Act 2025. This marks a major shift in the UK’s employment landscape, including expanded employee rights such as changes to unfair dismissal rules, family-friendly rights and greater protections against harassment. This is not all, as the space is also seeing tribunal cases increase in both volume and complexity, partly due to AI generated claims, which is placing strain on the system. Navigating these developments requires agility and a future focus, and since Hunter Law is focused exclusively on employment law, it remains in an enviable place to deliver at pace the high-quality advice organisations seek. A levelled internal structure also means that it can scale quickly when needed, and by using the appropriate member or combination of members of its team, it can also keep fees as low as possible for clients. “Clients know who they are dealing with – we build a level of trust that is often harder to achieve in larger, more fragmented businesses.” Working in this environment is highly rewarding for Jenna and the team, all of whom get a kick out of helping people. Be it an HR director grappling with a large-scale redundancy or a senior executive exiting a business and looking to receive the right compensation, the variety of clients and range of situations this team get to help with is something they never take for granted. In fact, they are looking to expand. On the back of its move to new offices in Wateringbury in 2025, Hunter Law hosted a successful welcome event last year and then more recently a seminar explaining the Employment Rights Act 2025, for clients and their friends, offering it an opportunity to build out its existing clientele. With August marking ten years since Jenna established the firm, another event is set to be held to celebrate the occasion, alongside the opening of a new office in Warwickshire. This reflects a firm that is set to continue to pioneer in the field of employment law for the next ten years and beyond. Contact: Jenna Hunter Company: Hunter Law Web Address: https://hunterlaw.uk/
