Welsh Enterprise Awards 2018

16 SME NEWS / Welsh Enterprise Awards 2018 , Drawing on more than 10 years’ experience in the restaurant market, Côte Brasserie is an innovative chain of French inspired restaurants based throughout the UK. We invited David Scott to tell us more. Best French Dining Venue - Cardiff With its first restaurant opened in 2007, Côte brand was born from a genuine passion for French cuisine and the desire to bring true hospitality to the forefront of its service. David explores how the brand’s success has been driven by a true passion for fine food and exceptional hospitality. “Here at Côte, our food is inspired by the brasseries of Paris, and as such we serve authentic French dishes, breakfast through to dinner in our classically designed restaurants. From the classic Steak Frites, chargrilled corn-fed Breton Chicken to our house speciality, Crème Caramel, we are committed to providing freshly cooked to order menus, from the highest quality sourced ingredients. We are also proud to be accredited by Coeliac UK and have a dedicated gluten free menu as well as a vegetarian menu to offer our guests. “Our first restaurant was opened more than ten years ago, and since then we have seen the industry change, with guests having more variety and choice they have ever had. While we have also grown, we have stayed true to what makes Côte the brand it is today; passionate people delivering great service and food consistently, it’s that simple.” To ensure that guests receive an exceptional level of service every time they visit, Côte has a Cote Brasserie WEL18007 Company: Cote Brasserie Contact: David Scott Address: Cardiff Central, 10/11 Mill Lane, Cardiff, CF10 1FL, UK Phone: 02920 343810 Website: www.cote.co.uk supportive, family culture, which David explores in more detail. “Internally, Côte is like a family and we support and encourage our people with great career development programmes to help them progress. Many of our Managers and Head Chefs today, started as waiters or junior chefs and have worked their way up. We believe knowledge is key to delivering great service and we are lucky that our teams are genuinely passionate about food and wine and want to learn, this consequently has a positive effect on our guests dining experience.” The Côte at Cardiff has enjoyed a roaring trade since inception, and David has noticed many trends unique to the region which he is eager to share with our readers. “An increase in the breakfast trade is trending across all of our restaurants, but especially in Wales, whether this is due to the media endorsement of ‘Brunch’ as a trendy thing to do with friends, especially during the weekend. The same care and attention to detail applies to Côte’s breakfast menus, with the renowned Eggs Florentine with homemade Hollandaise served until midday on weekdays and, for a long lazy breakfast, until 1pm at weekends. We also see a continued demand for our value for money set menu which we change on a monthly basis. Cardiff as a city is growing and there are more sporting and music events each year that certainly help to promote the city and drive guests to dine with us. Visit Wales certainly does a great job in marketing the city and what it has to offer.” Looking ahead, Côte will continue to deliver the same exceptional level of service and delicious food that has come to characterise its brand over the past ten years, and will hopefully characterise it for many more.
