Despite its relative youth, the firm draws on a vast wealth of experience. Having come from a background of practice accountancy, following the birth of her second child Hannah decided to set up her own accountancy practice which would allow her the flexibility she needed, as well as the chance to offer a truly exceptional level of service, as she explores. “Juggling two children around school runs and school holidays was going to be too difficult and too expensive whilst working full time. By running my own business, it allowed me the flexibility to juggle being a mum of two around those commitments The name ‘Freedom in Numbers’ came from a vision of an accounting and business growth support service that gave our customers freedom from numbers yet left them sufficiently in touch with them, to make the right business decisions based on quality data and support from a qualified and experienced advisor. “Initially, we started with just a few clients, generally small sole traders and single owner companies, in a variety of different industries, and we have now grown to a client base of 32 clients, which is still expanding. These clients are proud to work with an innovative business that offers them the support they need. Purely working with Xero and automation packages like Hubdoc has differentiated us from our competitors, as it helps us to deliver a different kind of service to our clients. It focuses on delivering up to date information on a daily basis, meaning our clients can use the information to make informed business decisions when they need to. With ‘Making tax digital’ fast approaching, it’s important for our clients who have not yet embraced cloud accounting to understand the impact that this will have on their business.” Client service is central to the firm’s success, and forms the basis of its success in the Yorkshire & Humber Enterprise Awards, as Hannah is eager to emphasise. “At Freedom in Numbers, we very much want to help our clients grow and prosper. We like our clients to see us as approachable, friendly and be someone they can feel relaxed and comfortable around, and we encourage everyone we work with to embrace this approach. This goes hand in hand with our aim to encourage regular contact with our clients. We are not a traditional accountancy practice in this sense, we like to be proactive, and enhance our clients experience. “It is great to have been awarded this prestigious title, as it affirms that our hard work is appreciated. Knowing that our clients really value our work was wonderful to hear. Our approach has always been that our clients come first, and I think that our clients believe this too. Finding out that had won was a great achievement for us, and recognition for all our hard work.” As she concludes her overview of her dynamic business, Hannah firmly believes that the future is bright for Freedom In Numbers as it seeks to grow and continue to support a range of clients across the UK. “Looking to the future, everyone at Freedom In Numbers is excited to be expanding, and we would hope that as our client base grows that we can grow as a business too. We would love to employ more staff and find new premises in the Sheffield area.
