Rebekah Jones is a Consultant Psychotherapist, Trauma Specialist, Certified EMDR Therapist, and Consulting Tutor and Clinical Supervisor (individuals and groups). She is also a CISM Practitioner and has worked with people impacted in high-profile events such as the Grenfell fire, Manchester Arena bombings, Shoreham Air Crash, London terror attacks and several murders, as well as workplace events. With four therapists working alongside her at the practice, including a student therapist and a newly qualified therapist, Rebekah is able to offer a broader range of therapeutic interventions and also meet the needs of more people, including more people who require lower fees. As a team, the practice specialises in working with people who identify as being neurodivergent; all of their therapists have their own personal and professional expertise in this area and therefore work in a neuroaffirming to provide trauma-informed therapy for all clients. Rebekah has also recently reached an agreement with a local support service, and will be joining forces with them to provide low-fee support for veterans and 999 personnel on the island, with an aim to ensuring they are able to access prompt, high-quality support during times of mental health difficulty. This extension to the service will be provided both online and in person, from the consulting rooms on the island. Having worked as a clinician in mental health and learning disability services (NHS, charity and private) for 33 years this year, Rebekah aims to treat each client the way that she would like to be treated. This means going the extra mile to ensure someone feels truly heard, especially at the most vulnerable time in their lives. “I strive to provide a human for clients to connect with, to ensure a relationship is formed from the earliest moment of connection,” explains Rebekah, speaking of her approach. “Our service values quality over quantity, and therefore every client who refers in to work with our therapists is treated as an individual, who has their own unique needs and will therefore receive a relational approach to their therapeutic journey with us.” There are significant demands in the mental health industry of late, primarily due to the increasing pressures on the NHS. Rebekah sees much more complex clients referring into her practice, and into the practices of her supervisees; this requires them to work alongside NHS mental health services, to ensure the highest quality service for the client. Rebekah stays ahead of the curve by remaining involved in teaching up and coming therapists, but also by involving herself in research - currently by completing her PhD, which addresses limitations in her clinical area. The industry is, however, at a pivotal point, Rebekah tells us, and desperately needs regulation measures to protect clients from insufficiently trained people who claim to be therapists, as well as to clearly differentiate between Counsellors and Psychotherapists, including the introduction of protected titles. “As a Consultant Clinical Psychotherapist with long service, with additional teaching and research experience, I believe that I am able to support those who are coming into our industry to a very high standard, and therefore to demand these high standards of our students, too,” she elaborates. “By moving towards becoming a robust profession, it is my hope that we will give clients more confidence in the support that can be provided by therapists, and within this we will work towards improving mental health within our communities as well as intergenerationally.” For her diligence to her profession, Rebekah gained recognition in the UK Enterprise Awards and was rewarded with two accolades, namely Most Compassionate Psychotherapist 2026 - Southern England, as well as clinching the Mental Health Excellence Award 2026. Now, it is her hope that the UK can lead the way in Europe to regulating the profession, and therefore improve the standards of practice within therapeutic care for clients. For the years to come, Rebekah and her team are looking to collaborate with investors so that the business can expand and positively impact even more lives.
