UK Enterprise Awards 2026

UK Enterprise Awards 2026 / 106 Excellence Award in Person-Centred Specialist Care 2026 – Manchester PBT Safer Care is an award-winning health and social care provider based in Greater Manchester. The company was built upon an unwavering commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care that enables people to live fulfilling, independent lives. We spoke with Founder Dr Pauline Marie BinnsTulloch below for more, as PBT Safer Care is named in the UK Enterprise Awards 2026. “Our mission is to create environments where people of all ages and abilities feel welcomed, supported, respected, and able to thrive.” The story of PBT Safer Care is one of resilience, faith, service, and hope. It has been shaped by the journey of Dr Pauline Binns-Tulloch, who travelled from Jamaica to the United Kingdom with a deep drive to help others and build stronger communities. Pauline has been an entrepreneur, educator, foster carer, healthcare professional, mentor, humanitarian, and community advocate throughout her life, always focusing her work on empowering people and creating opportunities. Pauline funnelled her passion into establishing PBT Safer Care in 2019, centring the business around empowering people, promoting dignity, encouraging independence, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals. She works closely with families, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure that every person receives the support they need to thrive. PBT Safer Care supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, complex care requirements, and vulnerable individuals who require tailored support. The company’s services span supported living, domiciliary care, specialist care, respite support, community-based services, wellbeing programmes, and assistance with independent living skills. The PBT Safer Care team is driven by the belief that every person should have the opportunity to live with dignity and purpose, regardless of their age, disability, health condition, ethnicity, faith, or social background. It strives to make a positive difference in someone’s life each day, whether supporting an individual to gain confidence, helping someone maintain their independence, or providing reassurance to families. “Our unique strength lies in combining professional expertise with genuine lived experience and community understanding,” Pauline told us. “We recognise that every individual is different, which is why we deliver truly personalised support rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Our leadership team understands firsthand the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and communities, enabling us to provide services that are not only compliant and effective but also compassionate and transformative.” “We firmly believe that when people are given the right support, safe environments, strong values, and opportunities to succeed, extraordinary things can happen.” As the care sector continues to evolve, PBT Safer Care remains committed to actively monitoring industry developments and listening carefully to the people it supports, their families, and its staff. The company has observed increasing demand across the UK for personalised care, supported living services, autism support, mental health services, and community-based care solutions, as well as a greater recognition of the importance of helping people remain independent within their own communities. “We are seeing increased awareness around social isolation, loneliness, wellbeing, and the need for more integrated support services that combine care, housing, education, and community development,” said Pauline. “These developments align strongly with the values on which PBT Safer Care was founded. We have always believed that good care extends beyond meeting physical needs. it is about creating opportunities for connection, purpose, confidence, and belonging.” As demand continues to grow, PBT Safer Care will invest in workforce development, supported accommodation, community partnerships, and innovative approaches that promote independence and improve quality of life. The next two years are shaping up to be an exciting chapter in this journey, as the team continues on its mission to become a recognised leader in integrated care, community support, and inclusive housing solutions throughout Greater Manchester and beyond. PBT Safer Care is currently working to acquire its own dedicated building, which will serve as both a permanent home for its team and a wellbeing hub for the wider community. The centre will provide a safe environment where older people, individuals living with disabilities, people with autism, vulnerable adults, families, and local residents can socialise, build friendships, participate in activities, access support services, play games, attend events, learn new skills, and improve their overall wellbeing. “We recognise that loneliness and social isolation are significant challenges facing many today, and our vision is to create a space where people feel connected, valued, and part of a caring community,” Pauline concluded. “Our long-term goal is to continue creating services and opportunities that reduce isolation, strengthen communities, and empower people to flourish and achieve their fullest potential.” Contact: Pauline Binns-Tulloch Company: PBT Safer Care LTD Web Address: www.pbtsafercare.co.uk
