UK Enterprise Awards 2026

Curran Estates is a boutique property agency based in Swansea, South Wales, delivering specialist residential sales services for clients including private homeowners, investors, and developers. It weaves care and consideration throughout every stage of its service delivery, whether providing valuation, strategic marketing and media, negotiation, property staging advice, or full post-sale support. The agency’s flagship listing, Llwynhelig Manor, is a restored historic grade II listed manor house, sitting within 24 acres of picturesque Welsh countryside, which showcases its ability to market premium heritage properties, as well as local lifestyle ones. We speak to Founder and Director, Melissa Curran to learn more about the award-winning property agency that is Curran Estates. Most Client-Focused Property Agency 2026 - South Wales “The ability to care for and consider our clients’ needs. We don’t just strive for this; we embody it!” Melissa begins. “Being part of our strapline, “care and consideration from curation to completion” means that the journey with Curran Estates is one that clients can depend on to support their dreams and goals. This in turn helps us achieve long-term business goals through doing great work every day.” Curran Estates is undeniably an agency that genuinely cares about people, whether its clients or its staff. It prioritises people over profit, with Melissa saying, “Our agency ultimately cares more, so that means we communicate with transparency, have a genuine desire to build strong relationships, and are responsive. We’ll always be the ones that others recommend. Clients want to work with people they like and trust and I’ll never forget that.” One such example of this is how Curran Estates has been chosen to present Llwynhelig Manor to the market, a rare and extraordinary grade II listed Georgian manor house (c. 1826), located in Penybanc, near Llandeilo. The property was in a state of disrepair, but it has since been thoughtfully and extravagantly restored into a beautiful and functional home with spacious, light, and airy rooms. The property’s heritage and period characteristics are embraced, such as a two‑storey façade, sash windows, and fanlight entrance, while it has been lavished in modern comforts covering the southfacing orangery; five elegant reception rooms; seven multipurpose bedrooms, plus five more within the onsite apartments; a basement featuring a wine cellar, gym, and sauna; a grade II listed stable range; enclosed garden; and private grounds. Interestingly, Llwynhelig Manor is the former home of governess and renowned writer, Anne Beale (1816-1900), who is quoted as having said, “So much warmth and character as to captivate every person… in the small compass of this beautiful valley I had a world completely closed in from the outer world.” This while more recently, Captain John Francis resided there. The property now offers a unique opportunity for its next owners to continue the iconic Llwynhelig legacy. Indeed, representing properties such as Llwynhelig Manor reflects how Curran Estates is flourishing as a business – however, that’s not to say that its success doesn’t come without its challenges, as Melissa goes on to tell us: “Knowing the UK property process, it can feel like high risk, high reward, especially when deals fall through due to clients pulling out, causing chains to collapse, and despite this, UK agents must be positive with an attitude of “let’s get up and go again.” She continues, “The UK property market is resilient and that can be seen even looking at the changes over the last six years. Stamp duty and mortgage rate shifts continue to influence timing and pricing. These shifts shape our advice to clients; drive negotiation, renovation, or development advice; and inform tailored marketing strategies. The UK property industry has had a bad reputation based on some high street brands not acting with integrity and resulting in negative press; this means that to elevate the corporate landscape, it is all about showing up and remembering that reputation is everything. A wise person once told me, “Your relationships and results equal your reputation!”, which is a mantra that I live by daily.” Melissa reveals that short-term plans include celebrating the award, then expanding the business’ portfolio of listed properties and achieving success for all of its clients. She is prioritising further expansion of her team to support this growth. In terms of 2027 and beyond, Melissa tells us that she hopes to see the agency become the property agency of choice in and around South Wales; and with this growth, there will be no compromise on the high standard of care and consideration that each client will experience.
