About Island Farm

Leaders in Welsh Wartime Heritage 2026

The digital archive at www.islandfarm.wales serves as the definitive repository for Island Farm POW Camp 198 and Special Camp 11 in Bridgend. Over 25 years of research, translation, and archival work have transformed this project into a globally recognized resource. The site documents the location’s full history, from a munitions workers’ hostel to the famous 1945 escape attempt and its role holding senior Axis commanders awaiting trial.
