About Persona Arts
Best Arts & Cultural Inclusion Charity 2026 – West Midlands

Byron Jackson FRSA is an international opera singer and Founding Artistic Director of West Midlands charity Persona Arts. Raised in Birmingham by his Windrush-generation grandmother, he brings lived experience to an artform long seen as elite. Endorsed by HM The King, his production of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman reached nearly 1,000 people at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Persona Arts champions marginalised voices, creating pathways for emerging artists so opera belongs to everyone.
