Project 3580: The Waterloo Schools Charity

Our story began over fifty years ago when Laurie Read fell in love with Sierra Leone and its people while working as a teacher. Returning after many years, he was heartbroken to see how conflict had shattered the country – but inspired to help rebuild it through education. From that hope, the Waterloo Schools Charity was born. After visiting Waterloo and Kissitown with Laurie, Neil Morland founded Project 3580, named in memory of 3,580 children lost to malaria in one refugee camp.
