Contemporary Arts Centre of the Year 2025 – North West
<p>The Bluecoat is Liverpool’s contemporary arts centre, a place where audiences experience art in new ways. Our Grade I-listed building started as a charity school in 1717 and became the UK’s first arts centre in 1927. We remove barriers to accessing art with our free exhibitions and creative activities for all ages. Our impact goes beyond the gallery with art clubs for local school children and inclusive art programmes with neurodivergent and learning disabled adults.</p>
