The White Horse Pub Churton

After closing in 2020 and sitting empty for years, Gary Usher acquired the building to save it from being demolished by property developers. A strong, grassroots sense of local support was evident from the beginning—villagers contributed tools, furnishings (one donated the pub’s fireplace!), and meals during extension renovations. The pub opened in 2023 and made it into the Top 100 Gastropubs list in the first year.
